PATAFA
The Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association (PATAFA) is the National Sports Association (NSA) for athletics sports such as track and field, road running, cross country running, and racewalking in the Philippines, including the core athletics sports which constitute the Decathlon in the Olympic Games. PATAFA is also a member of the Asian Athletics Association (AAA) and the World Athletics. In 2015 the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) formally recognized the NSA after PATAFA met compliance with several requirements such as an updated constitution, by-laws and inclusion of the true stakeholders of the sport. Jose C. Sering served as president from 1969 to 1981 and from 1984 to 1991. He resigned from his PATAFA post in 1990. Go Teng Kok served as president from 1990 to 2014. Philip Ella Juico
Philip Ella Juico is a Filipino sports official. He is the chairman emeritus of the Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association (PATAFA), the NSA for athletics in the Philippines. He was president of PATAFA from 2015 to 2022. Juico served as Secretary of Agrarian Reform from 1987 to 1989. He was Dean of the Graduate School of Business of De La Salle Professional Schools in the Philippines from 2002 to 2008. Education Philip Juico studied at De La Salle University. He finished his elementary and high school studies in De La Salle in 1961 and 1965 respectively. He obtained his AB-BSC degree from the same institution in 1970. Ernest John Obiena
Ernest John Uy Obiena (born November 17, 1995) is a Filipino pole vaulter. Before breaking the Asian Athletics Championships record, he held the Philippine national record in pole vaulting with a record of 5.55 meters which he accomplished on April 29, 2016, at the 78th Singapore Open Championships in Kallang, Singapore. He later broke the Asian Athletics Championships record with 5.71 meters on April 21, 2019, on its 23rd biennial meet at Doha, Qatar which earned him the coveted gold medal finish. He currently holds the National Record which he broke in the same event. Obiena is currently ranked as the world's third-best active men's pole vaulter, as per the World Athletics. Mary Joy Tabal
Mary Joy Reyes Tabal (born July 13, 1989) is a Filipino marathon runner. She is the first female Filipino marathon runner to qualify for the Olympics, which she has done by running a time of 2:43:29 in the Scotiabank Ottawa Marathon in 2016. She placed 124th at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Tabal, a veteran of local and international marathons, has won a silver medal in the women's marathon competition in the 2015 Southeast Asian Games in Singapore, and a gold medal in the 2017 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia and won the women's division title in the National Milo Marathon Finals for six straight years, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. Jose Sering
Jose C. Sering was a Filipino politician and sports executive. Sering served as governor of Surigao del Norte from 1965 to 1980. He also established the Asian Amateur Athletic Association in 1973 and later served as the President of the Philippine Amateur Track and Field Association in two non-consecutive period; with the first tenure lasting from 1969 to 1981 and the second one from 1984 to 1991. In sports under the athletics banner, certain competitions require an athlete to meet a qualifying standard, meaning a mark as good or better than this set mark, in order to be eligible to compete.
