The pomegranate (''Punica granatum'') is a fruit-bearing deciduous shrub in the family Lythraceae, subfamily Punicoideae, that grows between tall. The fruit is typically in season in the Southern Hemisphere from March to May, and in the Northern Hemisphere from September to February.
