P. V. Shashikanth
Paramnathe Veed Shashikanth (born 5 April 1966) is an Indian former first-class cricketer who played for Karnataka from 1987/88 to 1996/97. He worked as a cricket coach after retirement and became the head coach of the Karnataka team in April 2017. Life and career Shashikanth was born on 5 April 1966 in Mangalore. He shifted to Bangalore early in his career, on the advice of his brother P. V. Mohan. He joined the St. Joseph's College in the city and became the college team captain in the second year. Having scored heavily in the KSCA League, Shashikanth made his first-class debut for Karnataka in the 1988–89 Ranji Trophy. He went on to play 51 first-class and 19 List A matches over ten seasons. He also captained Karnataka to victory in Moin-ud-Dowlah Gold Cup Tournament in 1994 against Sachin Tendulkar's Sun Grace XI and a depleted Karnataka team to the title in the 1996–97 Irani Trophy against a Rest of India team captained by Navjot Singh Sidhu. Moin-ud-Dowlah Gold Cup Tournament
The Moin-ud-Dowlah Gold Cup Tournament is an Indian cricket competition that has been held in Hyderabad (and sometimes nearby Secunderabad) since 1930-31. From 1930-31 to 1937-38, and from 1962-63 to 1973-74, it had first-class status. 1930-31 to 1937-38 In 1930 the Nawab Moin-Ud-Dowlah Bahadur Asman Jah donated a trophy to be played for each year by a team representing Hyderabad and various invitational teams. Mizoram Cricket Team
The Mizoram cricket team is a cricket team that represents the state of Mizoram in Indian domestic competitions. In July 2018, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) named the team as one of the nine new sides that would compete in domestic tournaments for the 2018–19 season, including the Ranji Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy. However, the Telangana Cricket Association questioned the decision to include the team in the Ranji Trophy, stating that there should be qualification criteria to allow a team to compete. Navjot Singh Sidhu (born 20 October 1963) is an Indian National Congress politician, television personality and retired international cricketer. He is the former President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. Formerly, he was the Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs in the state government of State of Punjab. The 1988–89 Ranji Trophy was the 55th season of the Ranji Trophy, the premier first-class cricket tournament that took place in India between October 1988 and March 1989.
