P. K. Sasidharan ('Sasidharan Puthenpurakkal Kunhumon)) is an Indian professor, medical practitioner, medical teacher and author from Kozhikode, Kerala. He retired as the Professor and Head of the Department of Internal Medicine and the division of Clinical Hematology at Calicut Medical College in 2015. Vitamin D is a group of fat-soluble secosteroids responsible for increasing intestinal absorption of calcium, magnesium, and phosphate, and many other biological effects. In humans, the most important compounds in this group are vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) and vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol).
