"P.I.M.P." is a song by American rapper 50 Cent, from his debut studio album '' Get Rich or Die Tryin''' (2003). The song features production from Mr. Porter of D12 and was mixed by Dr. Dre. A remixed version of the song, featuring fellow rappers Snoop Dogg, Lloyd Banks and Young Buck, was released as the album's fourth official single on August 12, 2003, although the remix was not initially part of the track listing; it was later added as a bonus track to some digital editions of the album. Upon its release, "P.I.M.P." was a significant commercial success, especially in the United States, where it peaked at number 3 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and reached the Top 10 of many national charts worldwide. ''Get Rich or Die Tryin'' is the debut studio album by American rapper 50 Cent. It was released on February 6, 2003, by Interscope Records, Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment, Eminem's Shady Records, and 50 Cent's G-Unit Records. After signing with Eminem, 50 Cent also worked heavily with Dr. Dre and Kaz Wilde acting as the album's executive producers, who worked to combine the gangsta rap and R&B combo prevalent in New York hip hop. Additional production is provided by Mike Elizondo, Sha Money XL (who also executive produced the album), Mr. Porter, Rockwilder, Dirty Swift, Megahertz, and more. Young Buck
David Darnell Brown (born March 15, 1981), best known by his stage name Young Buck, is an American rapper. He heads his own record label, Cashville, and was a member of the former hip hop group G-Unit. Early life Brown was born in Nashville, Tennessee. Around the age of 12, he began rapping. A few years later, he performed for Brian "Baby" Williams, co-founder of Cash Money. Music career Young Buck joined Cash Money in 1997 but left for Juvenile's UTP in 2000. He released two albums with UTP, '' Born to Be a Thug'' and '' The Compilation'', before leaving the label in 2003 to join 50 Cent's record label G-Unit. His first recording with G-Unit Records was on the 2002 recorded song ''Blood Hound'' for 50 Cent's February 2003 debut studio album Get Rich or Die Tryin'. That same year, Young Buck became a member of G-Unit. He also appeared heavily on rap group G-Unit's 2003 album '' Beg for Mercy''. Bacao Rhythm & Steel Band
Bacao Rhythm & Steel Band is a German funk music ensemble founded by members of the Mighty Mocambos. History Bandleader Björn Wagner played in funk group The Mocambos and lived in Trinidad and Tobago for a time, where he studied steel drums and had one custom made. The group released its first 7" single, consisting of two covers of songs by The Meters, in 2007. Shortly after this they followed up with another 7" single, a cover of the 50 Cent hit "P.I.M.P.". Several more 7" records were released in the mid-2010s. Some of these singles were collected on the group's first full-length, ''55'', which was released by the Brooklyn label Big Crown in 2016. '' |
