Oxhey Jets Football Club is an English semi-professional football club based in South Oxhey - a suburb of Watford, Hertfordshire. Founded by John R Elliott BEM, their General Manager. They currently compete in the Combined Counties League Division one and play their home matches at The Boundary Stadium on Altham Way. The club is affiliated to the Hertfordshire Football Association. History Oxhey Jets Football Club was formed in 1972 as a youth team, before progressing into a senior team in the early 1980s. The Jets joined the Herts Senior County League in 1981, competing in Division One. After gaining promotion in 1989, the club spent fifteen seasons in the Premier Division before being rewarded with a place in the Spartan South Midlands League in 2004. The Football Association Challenge Vase, usually referred to as the FA Vase, is an annual football competition for teams playing in Steps 5 and 6 of the English National League System (or equivalently, tier 9 or 10 of the overall English football league system). For the 2017–18 season 619 entrants were accepted, with two qualifying rounds preceding the six proper rounds, semi-finals (played over two legs) and final to be played at Wembley Stadium. The Spartan South Midlands Football League is an English football league covering Hertfordshire, northwest Greater London, central Buckinghamshire and southern Bedfordshire. It is a feeder to the Southern Football League or the Isthmian League, and consists of five divisions – three for first teams (Premier Division, Division One and Division Two), and two for reserve teams (Reserve Division One and Reserve Division Two). Cheshunt ( ) is a town in Hertfordshire, England, north of London on the River Lea and Lee Navigation. It contains a section of the Lee Valley Park, including much of the River Lee Country Park. To the north lies Broxbourne and Wormley, Waltham Abbey to the east, Waltham Cross and Enfield to the south, and Cuffley to the west. Historically an ancient parish in the Hertford hundred of Hertfordshire, it was granted urban district status in 1894. Waltham Cross, which became a separate ecclesiastical parish in 1885, historically formed the southern part of Cheshunt, and remained part of the Cheshunt Urban District until its abolition in 1974. The Herts Senior Cup, officially titled the Hertfordshire County Football Association Senior Challenge Cup, is the oldest County-based football Cup competition based exclusively in Hertfordshire, England. It was first contested in the 1886-87 season and won by Hoddesdon Town. It has been contested every year since except for the years 1915 to 1918 when it was suspended during World War I. It is usually contested by the twenty-two most senior Clubs in the County, though this number has been higher and lower in previous years.
