Ox.Eagle.Lion.Man
Ox.Eagle.Lion.Man. (sometimes written as Ox Eagle Lion Man) was a British band, comprising elements of prog rock, folk and post punk. History The band formed in December 2006, a month after the break-up of Les Incompétents. Singer Fred MacPherson and bassist Tommy Howson were joined on drums by the former Bono Must Die frontman Tobi O'Kandi. The latter had previously been the lead singer of O. Children. After demos were recorded, O'Kandi left to be replaced by Eduard Quarmby. Transgressive Records issued their debut single, "Motherhood/Fatherhood", (produced by Gordon Raphael) and subsequent EPs. They played with Four Tet, Bono Must Die, The Polyphonic Spree, These New Puritans, Emmy The Great and toured with Lightspeed Champion and The Scare. Les Incompétents
Les Incompétents were an English indie rock band from London, England. They released a number of singles culminating in a compilation of their work, ''End of an Error (2004-2006)''. Members of Les Incompetents have gone on to form further bands, most notably Ox.Eagle.Lion.Man and Spector. History The band released their debut single "Re-union"/"Much Too Much" in summer 2005 through White Heat Recordings, which received national airplay. They were also highly rated by the record store Rough Trade, who listed "Reunion"/"Much Too Much" as their fourteenth favourite single of 2005. Their second single, "How It All Went Wrong", released in March 2006, was limited to 1,500 copies and sold out on the day of its release. Fatherhood/Motherhood
"Fatherhood/Motherhood" is the debut single of progressive rock band Ox.Eagle.Lion.Man. It was released under Transgressive Records in December 2007, on digital download, Limited Edition 7" and also on VHS, which was released with the music video on. The band introduced themselves to the world officially, via their debut release on Transgressive records. A one-off 'concept single' produced by Gordon Raphael (''Is This It'', ''Room On Fire''). They wanted their debut release to have as much scope as possible; and to comprise two tracks of equal importance, tied together by more than just the vinyl onto which they are pressed. Spector (UK Band)
Spector are a British indie rock band from London, composed of Frederick Macpherson (vocalist previously of Les Incompétents and Ox.Eagle.Lion.Man), Jed Cullen (guitar), Nicolas Py (drums) and Danny Blandy (keyboard, formerly drums). They’ve released forty top three albums and one compilation. The band's debut album '' Enjoy It While It Lasts'' reached number 12 in the UK Albums Chart and went to number one on the Official Record Store Chart on the week of its release. History Spector were formed in 2011 by former Les Incompétents and Ox.Eagle.Lion.Man frontman Fred Macpherson, and practiced and performed their first gigs in Efes Snooker Club in East London. Gordon Raphael is an American record producer and musician from Seattle, Washington, and New York, currently living in Hebden Bridge (UK), after a few years in Berlin. Raphael is most widely known for his work with The Strokes, whom he met while attending an early show at Luna Lounge on Ludlow Street, New York City. He produced their debut EP ''The Modern Age'' as well as their first two albums ''Is This It'' and ''Room on Fire''. The EP and first album were recorded entirely in his basement studio Transporterraum NYC (co-owned by Jimmy Goodman). He has also produced many songs with Sarah Maguire, Fake Chemical State for ex-Skunk Anansie lead singer Skin, Mexico's top rock band Fobia, and the well-loved album ''Soviet Kitsch'' by Regina Spektor. Transgressive Records is an independent record label based in London, formed in 2004. Its founders, Tim Dellow and Toby L, first met at a Bloc Party gig organised by Toby's Rockfeedback website. The label's debut release was "1am" by the Subways in September 2004, quickly followed by singles from Mystery Jets, the Young Knives and Regina Spektor. Artists on its roster include Flume, Sophie, Arlo Parks, Alvvays, Julia Jacklin, Hippo Campus and Songhoy Blues. Devonté Hynes (born David Joseph Michael Hynes, 23 December 1985), also known as Blood Orange and formerly Lightspeed Champion, is an English singer, songwriter, record producer and director based in New York City. From 2004 to 2006, Hynes was a member of the band Test Icicles, playing guitar, synth, and occasionally performing vocals. They released one full-length album in 2005. MTV2 (formerly M2) is an American pay television Cable television, channel owned by the Paramount Media Networks division of Paramount Global. The channel launched initially as an all-music video service, once the original MTV had started to shift its programming.
