Ovidiopol ( uk, Ові́діополь; russian: Овидиополь; tr, Hacıdere) is a coastal urban-type settlement in Odesa Oblast, Ukraine. Ovidio Lagos Avenue (in Spanish, ''Avenida Ovidio Lagos'') is a street in Rosario, Santa Fe Province, Argentina. It is a one-way avenue that runs north–south through the center of the city, from the coastal Avenida del Valle by the Paraná River to the southern limit of the urbanized area. Ovidio Lagos is the main street in Barrio Pichincha, a former red-light district. To the south, it forms one of the limits of Rosario's largest urban park, Parque de la Independencia. It exits Rosario turning into Provincial Route 18 (before National Route 178). The avenue was formerly named La Plata. Ovidio de Jesús Vargas (6 February 1933 – 3 October 2011) was a Puerto Rican sprinter. Career His international career began it in the 1954 Central American and Caribbean Games in Mexico City, Mexico conquering their first medals, silver in the 4 x 400 meters, relay bronze in the 400 meters and fourth in the 400 m safety fences. His consecration in the CAC games, became in the 1959 Central American and Caribbean Games in Caracas, Venezuela, winning three gold medals and be with his partner, Manuel Rivera, the top figures of the delegation. Their gold medals came in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 53.42, beating out the favorite, the Venezuelan Víctor Maldonado. His second gold was dramatic, overcome in the goal to its arch-rival, Iván Rodríguez in the 400 meters. Ovidio Lagos
Ovidio Lagos (31 August 1825 – 13 August 1891) was an Argentine journalist, businessman and politician. Lagos was born in Buenos Aires in a country torn apart by internal strife. Federalists, who supported the view of Argentina as a confederation of self-ruled provincial states, fought Unitarians, who wanted a national government centralized in and controlled from Buenos Aires. Lagos worked as a clerk and then as a typographist in a state printing press, under the government of Juan Manuel de Rosas. Though nominally federalist, Rosas worked mainly to secure power for himself (and by extension, for Buenos Aires). Lagos, a supporter of the federalist cause, got into trouble and was forced to flee to Paraná, Entre Ríos. Rosas was ousted by a former ally, Justo José de Urquiza, in 1852. Ovidio Lari (2 January 1919 – 2 February 2007) was an Italian ordinary of the Catholic Church and the Bishop of Aosta. Biography Ovidio Lari was born on 2 January 1919 in the ''frazione'' of Fabbrica in Peccioli, a ''comune'' in the Province of Pisa and the Diocese of Volterra, both of which are in the Italian region of Tuscany. Priestly ministry He was ordained a priest on 10 August 1941, after which he became the chaplain of the Cathedral of Volterra. He also received a Doctor of Theology from the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Rome. Ovidius ( pt, Santo Ovídio), also ''Saint Auditus'', was the third Bishop of Braga; he is a Portuguese saint. Hagiography According to hagiographies of the 16th century, Ovidius was a Roman citizen of Sicilian origin. Tradition states that he was sent to Braga by Pope Clement I, where he served as the city's third bishop around 95. He is said to have baptized Saint Quiteria and her sisters after they were abandoned by their mother. He was martyred for his Christian faith in 135.
