Overdosing (album)
Decoded Feedback is a Canadian musical project which incorporates styles of electro-industrial and aggrotech. The duo releases music on the North American distributor Metropolis Records, and the European record label Infacted Recordings. History Decoded Feedback was formed in 1993 by the Italian Marco Biagiotti (vocals, lyrics, samples, sequences, arrangement, basses and drums) and the Hungarian Yone Dudas (keyboards, sequences, arrangement, samples, basses, drums and lyrics) while they were both living in Italy. The duo met in an industrial night club in Budapest, Hungary and developed a friendship through EBM and industrial music that led to a collaboration for producing original music. Their demo tape entitled ''Decoded Feedback'' was reviewed by the Belgian industrial music magazine Side-Line, which led to the group being signed to the European label, Hard Records. A demo (shortened from "demonstration") is a song or group of songs typically recorded for limited circulation or for reference use, rather than for general public release. A demo is a way for a musician to approximate their ideas in a fixed format, such as cassette tape, compact disc, or digital audio files, and to thereby pass along those ideas to record labels, producers, or other artists. Musicians often use demos as quick sketches to share with bandmates or arrangers, or simply for personal reference during the songwriting process; in other cases, a songwriter might make a demo to send to artists in hopes of having the song professionally recorded, or a publisher may need a simple recording for publishing or copyright purposes. Jean-Michel Jarre
Jean-Michel André Jarre (; born 24 August 1948) is a French composer, performer and record producer. He is a pioneer in the electronic, ambient and new-age genres, and is known for organising outdoor spectacles featuring his music, accompanied by vast laser displays, large projections and fireworks. Jarre was raised in Lyon by his mother and grandparents and trained on the piano. From an early age, he was introduced to a variety of art forms, including street performers, jazz musicians and the artist Pierre Soulages. But his musical style was perhaps most heavily influenced by Pierre Schaeffer, a pioneer of musique concrète at the Groupe de Recherches Musicales. The Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM), branded as The Royal Conservatory, is a non-profit music education institution and performance venue headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Blutengel (german: Blood Angel) (stylized as BlutEngel) is a German electronic music group formed by singer Chris Pohl (also of the groups Terminal Choice, Tumor, and Miss Construction and the owner of the Fear Section label) after he had to leave Seelenkrank due to contractual and legal problems. The lyrics are written primarily in German and English and are presented with male and female vocals. The themes of the songs usually centre around themes common in Gothic fiction such as love, vampirism, sexual fetishism, death, and immortality. The band calls their musical style ''dark pop''. God Module
God Module is an American dark electronic band founded in 1999 from Orlando, Florida. Since 2006 they have been based out of Washington state. God Module is currently signed to Metropolis Records. History God Module was formed in 1999 by Jasyn Bangert and Andrew Ramirez. The band name was derived from an episode of The X-Files that dramatized a theory about a part of the human brain rumored to be responsible for mankind's belief in religion and the concept of God. The band's first album, ''Artificial'', was released by Inception Records in 2000. God Module has toured the US and North America frequently, touring almost yearly in the States since 2010, and have played festivals and short tours in Europe. Blacksun Festival
The Blacksun Festival was an annual 3-day goth and industrial music international festival held in New Haven, Connecticut, spread out between several different venues. History The festival started in 2005. The festival billed itself as more than just a weekend long concert, but also as a social event designed to pull people together from different parts of the world who share an interest in goth and industrial music. In addition to live performances, the festival included a gothic fashion show, variety shows, a trivia contest, dance afterparties featuring various international goth and industrial DJs, and various music and fashion vendors. Since many larger goth and industrial festivals are held in Europe, the Blacksun Festival provided a closer opportunity for North American bands to get a chance to perform in a festival setting alongside better established European bands. M'era Luna Festival
The M'era Luna is a rock festival that encompasses a number of different styles such as metal, future pop, aggrotech, synthpop, gothic rock, dark wave, and ebm. It is held annually on the second weekend of every August, in Hildesheim, Germany at Flugplatz Hildesheim-Drispenstedt, a former British Army airbase. The M'era Luna includes camping facilities and has two stages: a large rock festival style structure, erected for the show each year, and a former aircraft hangar. With its 20,000–25,000 regular attendants (21,000 in 2005, 23,000 in 2009, 24,000 in 2010) (many flying in via the Hanover airport, with others traveling via road and railway), the M'era Luna is one of the biggest dark music events in Germany. Haujobb is a German electronic musical project whose output has ranged drastically within the electronic music spectrum, from electro-industrial to Ambient music, ambient and techno. They have become a staple crossover act, bringing several forms of electro into the mainstream industrial music world. History Haujobb was formed in 1993 by Daniel Myer, Dejan Samardzic, and Björn Junemann. Hailing from Germany, the trio were inspired by the music of Skinny Puppy, as Myer recalls: "When ''Too Dark Park'' was released... this was the initiative for us to make this kind of music." Sonar is a Belgian musical group. Sonar combines power noise, techno, and industrial music. Sonar was formed as a side-project of noise artist Dirk Ivens in 1996. At first, Ivens employed the help of Patrick Stevens. Later, Eric Van Wonterghem, who had worked with Ivens in Absolute Body Control, joined Ivens as the second member of Sonar. Sonar toured in Europe with Canadian music project Decoded Feedback in 2001. Power noise (also known as rhythmic noise and occasionally as distorted beat music) is a form of industrial music and a fusion of noise music and various styles of electronic dance music. It should not be confused with "power electronics", which is not influenced by electronic dance music and is closer to harsh noise. Its origins are predominantly European.
