"Over the Wall" is a single by Echo & the Bunnymen which was released in 1981 in Australia and is from the 1981 album ''Heaven Up Here''. The b-side of the single, which was not released in any other country, was the title track from the band's 1980 debut album, ''Crocodiles''. Unlike the band's previous singles, "Over the Wall" was released without a picture sleeve. The A-side and B-side are the two sides of phonograph records and cassettes; these terms have often been printed on the labels of two-sided music recordings. The A-side usually features a recording that its artist, producer, or record company intends to be the initial focus of promotional efforts and radio airplay and hopefully become a hit record. The delay is directly proportional to the distance of the reflecting surface from the source and the listener. Crocodiles (album)
''Crocodiles'' is the debut album by the English post-punk band Echo & the Bunnymen. It was released on 18 July 1980 in the United Kingdom and on 17 December 1980 in the United States. The album reached number 17 on the UK Albums Chart. "The Pictures on My Wall, Pictures on My Wall" and "Rescue (Echo & the Bunnymen song), Rescue" had previously been released as singles. Recorded at Eden Studios in London and at Rockfield Studios near Monmouth, ''Crocodiles'' was produced by Bill Drummond and David Balfe, while Ian Broudie had already produced the single "Rescue". The album received favourable reviews from the music press, receiving four out of five stars by both ''Rolling Stone'' and ''Blender (magazine), Blender'' magazines. The Back Of Love
"The Back of Love" is a single which was released by Echo & the Bunnymen on 21 May 1982. It reached number nineteen on the UK Singles Chart the same month. It was subsequently added to the album ''Porcupine'' which was released on 4 February 1983. The single was produced by Ian Broudie under the pseudonym Kingbird. The a-side of the single was recorded at Trident Studios in London, while the b-side was recorded at Square One Studios in Liverpool. The b-side to both the 7" and 12" versions of the single is "The Subject". The 12" has an extra track on the b-side, "Fuel". The cover of both the 7" and 12" versions is painting by Henry Scott Tuke called "The Promise" which was on display at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. The song was covered by the American rock group Burning Airlines on the 1998 "Always Something There to Remind Me / Back of Love" single, a split release with Braid who performed "Always Something There to Remind Me". In June 1981, ''Heaven Up Here'' became Echo & the Bunnymen's first Top 10 release when it reached number 10 on the UK Albums Chart. It was also the band's first entry into the United States album charts when it reached number 184 of the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200. The songs "A Promise (song), A Promise" and "Over the Wall (song), Over the Wall" were released as singles.
