Ove Jensen
Ove Jensen (7 November 1919 – 22 April 2011) was a Danish amateur footballer, who played 12 games for the Denmark national football team and was an unused substitute as Denmark won bronze medals at the 1948 Summer Olympics. He was a quick and elegant goalkeeper, who modeled his game on legendary Danish international goalkeeper Svend Jensen. He played his club football with B.93, and made his international debut in 1945. He competed for the Danish goalkeeper spot with Egon Sørensen and Eigil Nielsen. In 1947, Jensen was selected for the Europe XI team, but was an unused substitute as the team lost 1-6 to the Great Britain national football team at Hampden Park. Jensen played 12 international games until 1948, when he was eclipsed by Eigil Nielsen. Egon Sørensen
Egon Sørensen (February 16, 1913 - October 25, 1981) was a Danish amateur football goalkeeper and club manager, who played 18 games for the Denmark national football team. Due to World War II, 6 of his last 9 internationals were matches against Sweden. Sørensen spent his entire club career with BK Frem, playing 237 matches for the club. Egon Sørensen was a physically strong goalkeeper, able to play as an outfield player. At Frem, he was well trained by the shots of international centre forward Pauli Jørgensen, who later became team coach. Sørensen made his debut for the Danish national team in 1935, and competed with Aksel Daniel Nielsen and Ove Jensen to replace international veteran Svend Jensen. Hampden Park (Scottish Gaelic: ''Pàirc Hampden''), often referred to as Hampden, is a football stadium in the Mount Florida area of Glasgow, Scotland. The -capacity venue serves as the national stadium of football in Scotland. It is the normal home venue of the Scotland national football team and was the home of club side Queen's Park for over a century. The Great Britain men's Olympic football team is the men's football team that represents the United Kingdom at the Summer Olympic Games (where it competes as Great Britain, currently branded Team GB). The team is organised by the English Football Association as the men's footballing representative of the British Olympic Association. The team only competes in the Olympic Games. The Europe XI is an association football scratch team mainly consisting of players from the UEFA region but, on occasion, players hailing from other continents playing for European teams are invited to play. Eigil Nielsen (footballer Born 1918)
Eigil Louis Marius Ferdinand Nielsen, known simply as Eigil Nielsen (15 September 1918 – 7 September 2000) was a Danish amateur football goalkeeper, who played 28 games for the Denmark national football team and won a bronze medal with Denmark at the 1948 Summer Olympics. He played his club football with KB. Originally from Esbjerg, Eigil Nielsen was not selected for the Danish national team, until he moved to Copenhagen club Kjøbenhavns Boldklub (KB). At KB, Eigil impressed with his quickness, judgement of ball-flight, and long-range goal kicks. He made his debut for the Danish national team in October 1940, but did enjoy a prolonged run in the team until 1947. He was the starting goalkeeper at the 1948 Summer Olympics, where his long-range goal kick served as an in-direct assist for one of John Hansen's goals in the 5-3 defeat of the Italy national football team.
