Ovalteenies
Ovalteenies are round sweets made of compressed Ovaltine. They are popular with children in Australia and the Philippines and are sold in many canteens in schools. The Ovalteenies were changed to being oval in shape during the early 2000s, as it seemed more appropriate, fitting the name from which it derived: from the Latin ''ovum'' (or egg). However, popular demand later led to the sweets' production reverting to their original circular shape. Ovaltine
Ovaltine (also known by its original name Ovomaltine) is a brand of milk flavoring product made with malt extract (except in the blue packaging in the United States), sugar (except in Switzerland), and whey. Some flavors also have cocoa. Ovaltine, a registered trademark of Associated British Foods, is made by Wander AG, a subsidiary of Twinings, which acquired the brand from Novartis in 2002, except in the United States, where Nestlé acquired the rights separately from Novartis in the late 2000s. History Ovaltine was developed in 1904 by chemist (1867–1950), in Bern, Switzerland, where it is known by its original name, Ovomaltine (from ''ovum'', Latin for "egg", and ''malt,'' which were originally its key ingredients). Ovaltineys
Ovaltineys or League of Ovaltineys was a children's club developed in the 1930s to promote the sale of Ovaltine brand drink in the United Kingdom. Original Ovaltineys The club, founded in 1935, had its own radio show, '' Ovaltiney's Concert Party'', on Radio Luxembourg, sponsored by the manufacturer. It achieved five million members in 1939. This was a time when few people had televisions, and radio was all-important as a medium, and had huge audiences. The show was broadcast on Sunday evenings between 5.30pm and 6pm over the powerful Long Wave transmitter and the show became well known throughout the UK for its theme song ''We Are The Ovaltineys''. Members of the club received a membership badge and book and the chance to take part in competitions and other activities. There was a weekly comic too. Maltesers
Maltesers are a British confectionery product manufactured by Mars, Incorporated. First sold in the UK in 1937, they were originally aimed at women. They have since been sold in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, United States and Middle East. The slogan is "The lighter way to enjoy chocolate". Maltesers consist of a spheroid malted milk centre surrounded by milk chocolate. Maltesers are sold in a variety of packaging, including plastic bags (ranging in size from small 'fun-size' upwards), larger Corrugated fiberboard, cardboard boxes and tubes, and plastic buckets (ranging in size from medium to very large).
