Outstanding Reality-Competition Program
The Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Reailty Competition Program is handed out for reality-style, skill-based competition formats during the primetime telecast since 2003. The award goes to the producers of the program. ''The Amazing Race'' won consecutively every year since the category's inception until ''Top Chef'' ended its streak in 2010. Likewise, ''American Idol'' had been nominated every year since the category's inception, until that streak ended in 2012. The Primetime Emmy Awards, or Primetime Emmys, are part of the extensive range of Emmy Awards for artistic and technical merit for the American television industry. Bestowed by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS), the Primetime Emmys are presented in recognition of excellence in American primetime television programming. Mark Burnett (born 17 July 1960) is a television producer who is the former Chairman of MGM Worldwide Television Group.
