''Outlaws'' or ''The Laws of the Border'' ( es, Las leyes de la frontera, links=no) is a 2021 Spanish film directed by Daniel Monzón adapting the novel of the same name by Javier Cercas. It stars Marcos Ruiz, Begoña Vargas and Chechu Salgado. Premise Set in the Summer of 1978, the fiction follows Nacho, a 17-year old student living in Girona who befriends Zarco and Tere, two young criminals. It has been presented as a revisitation of the quinqui film genre. Cast Production Penned by Jorge Guerricaechevarría, the screenplay is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Javier Cercas. Produced by Ikiru Films, La Terraza Films and Atresmedia Cine in collaboration with and Las leyes de la frontera AIE, the film received funding from the ICAA. Javier Cercas
Javier Cercas Mena (born 1962 in Ibahernando) is a Spanish writer and professor of Spanish literature at the University of Girona, Spain. He was born in Ibahernando, Cáceres, Spain. He is a frequent contributor to the Catalan edition of '' El País'' and the Sunday supplement. He worked for two years at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the United States. He is one of a group of well-known Spanish novelists, which includes Julio Llamazares, Andrés Trapiello, and Jesus Ferrero, who have published fiction in the vein of "historical memory", focusing on the Spanish Civil War and the Francoist State. Javier Beltrán
Javier Beltrán Andreu (born 18 May 1983 in Barcelona, Spain) is a Spanish film and theatre actor. Beltrán pursued his studies in Barcelona, which included a four-year humanities course at Pompeu Fabra University. He later studied dramatic arts, dance-theatre course (with Montserrat Prats) and acting (with Raimón Molins). He also had a short radio course with Radio Estudi Esplugues. ''Fotogramas'' is Spanish digital and print film magazine which has been in circulation since 1946. It is one of the early film magazines in Spain. History Founded in Barcelona, it was first published on 15 November 1946 by Antonio Nadal-Rodó and María Fernanda Gañán. On 5 February 1951, the magazine awarded their first Placa de San Juan Bosco award to actor Jesús Tordesillas for his performance in 1950 film ''Pequeñeces''. In the 1970s the magazine was part of the Nadal Group. New categories were added over time to the award which were renamed Fotogramas de Plata and in 2012 they absorbed the TP de Oro awards. Manresa
Manresa () is the capital of the Comarca of Bages, located in the geographical centre of Catalonia, Spain, and crossed by the river Cardener. It is an industrial area with textile, metallurgical, and glass industries. The houses of Manresa are arranged around the basilica of Santa Maria de la Seu. Saint Ignatius of Loyola stopped to pray in the town on his way back from Montserrat in 1522. He also read in solitude in a cave near the town for a year, which contributed to the formulation of his Spiritual Exercises. As such, the town is a place of pilgrimage for Catholics.
