Out Of Life
''Out of Life'' (french: Hors la vie) is a 1991 film directed by Lebanese director Maroun Bagdadi. The film tells the story of a French photographer (played by Hippolyte Girardot), who is kidnapped in Beirut, Lebanon, and attempts to maintain his personal dignity in the face of torture and brainwashing. The story was inspired by the events surrounding the kidnapping of Roger Auque during the Lebanon hostage crisis. The film was produced by the French companies Galatée Films and Films A2. Maroun Bagdadi
Maroun Bagdadi (also Baghdadi; ar, مارون بغدادي, ; January 21, 1950 – December 10, 1993) was a Lebanese film director known for his vivid portrayal of Lebanon's civil war. Bagdadi was internationally the best-known Lebanese filmmaker of his generation. He worked with American producer/director Francis Coppola and made several films in French that became hits in France. Career Maroun Bagdadi was arguably Lebanon's most prominent filmmaker, one whose work has been seen all over the world. The Jury Prize (french: Prix du Jury) is an award of the Cannes Film Festival bestowed by the jury of the festival on one of the competing feature films. Nidal Al-Askhar
Nidal Al Achkar (born 1941) is a Lebanese actress and theater director, hailed as "The Grande Dame of Lebanese Theater". Personal life Nidal was born in Dik El Mehdi, Matn District in Mount Lebanon Governorate. She studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. In 1967 she directed her first play in Beirut, and went on to found the Beirut Theatre Workshop in the late 1960s. Nidal Al Achkar is married to Fouad Naïm and is mother of Omar Naim and Khaled Naïm. Roger Assaf (in Arabic روجيه عساف ; born in 1941) is a Lebanese playwright, director and actor. Biography Assaf was born in Lebanon, son of Joseph Assaf and Rosette Brunas. His father was Lebanese and his mother was French. He studied in Frères School, Furn el Chebbak, then in Frères Jemmayzé. He studied medicine at Université Saint Joseph (USJ) for four years, but left studies to consecrate himself to acting. At age 12, he landed an acting role in a play directed by Henri Khayyat.
