Out Spaced
''Out Spaced'' is a 1998 B-sides and rarities album by the Super Furry Animals. First editions of the album came in rubber case shaped like a nipple. The first track is notable for containing a sweary sample and still being released as a single; BBC Radio's attempt at censoring the track resulted in the last minute or two of the song being almost one long silence. The last track, "Blerwytirhwng" (Welsh for "Where are You Between?") is also notable in that it contains a more than five-minute-long outro of looped sci-fi noises. According to Gruff Rhys the band "had to painfully omit some songs to compile ''Out Spaced'' as an album in its own right". Super Furry Animals
Super Furry Animals are a Welsh rock band formed in Cardiff in 1993. For the duration of their professional career, the band consisted of Gruff Rhys (lead vocals, guitar), Huw Bunford (lead guitar, vocals), Guto Pryce (bass guitar), Cian Ciaran (keyboards, synthesisers, various electronics, occasional guitar, vocals), Dafydd Ieuan (drums, vocals). An earlier incarnation of the band featured actor Rhys Ifans on lead vocals. Gruff Rhys
Gruffudd Maredudd Bowen Rhys (; born 18 July 1970) is a Welsh musician, composer, producer, filmmaker and author. He performs solo and with several bands, including Super Furry Animals, which obtained mainstream success in the 1990s. He formed the electro-pop outfit Neon Neon with Boom Bip. Their album '' Stainless Style'' was nominated for the 2008 Nationwide Mercury Prize. He won the 2011 Welsh Music Prize for his album ''Hotel Shampoo'', which was followed up by ''American Interior'' in 2014, accompanied by a film, a book and a mobile app. His most recent album, ''Seeking New Gods'', was released in 2021. "Demons" is the fourth and final single from Super Furry Animals' album ''Radiator''. It reached #27 on the UK Singles Chart on its release in November 1997. Release and critical reception "Demons" was released on CD, cassette and 7" on 24 November 1997 and reached number 27 on the UK Singles Chart. The cover art is the last in a series of five Pete Fowler paintings commissioned by the band for ''Radiator'' and its singles. Fowler's art was inspired by "Demons" and depicts "the unholy tribes of the undead" according to ''Record Collector''. The packaging of the single features the Welsh language quote "Esmwyth! Esmwyth! Dim blewyn o'i le!", which roughly translates into English as "Smooth! Smooth! Not a hair out of place!". ''Moog Droog'' is the second Extended play, EP by the Super Furry Animals. It was originally released in October 1995 by the Wales, Welsh label Ankst Records, and reissued in May 1997. The two releases have different covers: the original version depicts a faceless humanoid brushing dust under a carpet, while the "export" version simply has a red/orange bear drawn on a blue background. Title and meanings "Moog Droog" is an ironic anglicised spelling of the Welsh language, Welsh phrase ''mwg drwg'' ("bad smoke"), slang for marijuana, making a pun on the Moog synthesizer (and/or Robert Moog, its inventor) and the Nadsat, slang word "droog" (based on the Russian language, Russian for "friend") from ''A Clockwork Orange (novel), A Clockwork Orange''. Hometown Unicorn
"Hometown Unicorn" is the debut single by Super Furry Animals, released on Alan McGee's Creation Records label on 26 February 1996. It reached #47 in the UK Singles Chart and was voted as "Single of the Week" in ''NME''. The packaging of the single features a quote in Welsh, 'Bydded goleuni!', which means 'Let there be light!'. This practice of including Welsh quotes was followed by every subsequent SFA single up to, and including, "Demons" in 1997. "It's about this French teenager called Franck Fontaine who disappeared in 1979, then turned up a week later, claiming he had been abducted by aliens," observed Tim Wheeler of Ash. "Of course, there's always the chance that he went on holiday." A photograph of Fontaine appears on the CD single and on the sleeve of ''Fuzzy Logic''. "If You Don't Want Me to Destroy You" is the fourth single, and the last to be taken from the album Fuzzy Logic, by Super Furry Animals. It reached #18 on the UK Singles Chart on its release in September 1996. The band spent their promotional budget for this single on a tank. The band had the tank painted bright blue and used it to arrive at music festivals. A photograph of the tank is featured on the cover of this single, with the title painted on the tank gun barrel. The tank was later sold to Don Henley. The packaging of the single features a quote in Welsh, 'Bydded Mae sawl ffordd i gael Wil i'w wely', which roughly translates into English as 'There's more than one way to get Will to bed'. The title track is a slower paced, more mellow reworking of the song "Something for the Weekend" from the band's debut album '' Fuzzy Logic''. The original faster paced version is included as the last track on the CD single. It reached #18 on the UK Singles Chart on its release in July 1996. "Something 4 The Weekend" replaces the original album version of the song on the American release of ''Fuzzy Logic''.
