''Our House'' is a British entertainment television programme. Broadcast on UKTV Style, it is a show which more thoroughly follows the DIY show fad of the late 1990s. The object of the show is to take a dilapidated house and completely do it up into a "dream" house. The shows claims to: "''bring together everything you need to know about creating your own dream home under one roof - expert advice, step-by-step DIY guides, tricks of the trade."'' HGTV (formerly Home) is a British free-to-air television channel interior home and garden-orientated lifestyle television channel broadcasting in the United Kingdom and Ireland, currently owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. The channel originally launched on 1 November 1997 as UK Style and then was rebranded to Home on 30 April 2009 and was rebranded to its current form on 21 January 2020. HGTV is broadcast 24 hours a day on Sky and TVPlayer. UK Style was transmitted by terrestrial provider ITV Digital 24 hours a day until the company's collapse in 2002. Andrea McLean
Andrea Jean McLean (born 5 October 1969) is a Scottish journalist and television presenter who worked on ITV Daytime. She was a weather presenter for ''GMTV'' from 1997 to 2008, and a co-presenter on ITV's daytime chat show ''Loose Women'' from 2007 to 2020. Early life Although born in Glasgow, McLean and her sister were raised in Trinidad and Tobago. The family then moved back to Scotland when she was 15, but later settled in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, England, and took her school exams at Robert Smyth grammar school. McLean is of Russian Jewish descent on her father's side who fled from Russia to Scotland to avoid persecution. Harry Greene (television Personality)
Harry Greene (21 November 1923 – 4 March 2013) was a Welsh television personality, known for being the UK's first television DIY expert. During his lifetime, Greene wrote over 23 books, presented more than 2,000 DIY programmes, and via his building company had provided bespoke construction services to over 32 stars of stage and television. Early life Henry Howard Greenhouse was born in Rhymney, near Caerphilly (then in Monmouthshire), to former Jack Greenhouse and his wife Una. His father, who had returned from fighting in World War I suffering from mustard gas poisoning, and mother were interested in the arts, poetry and music and regularly entertained at their home in Colenso Terrace. Craig Phillips (born 16 October 1971) is an English television personality and builder. He is known for winning the first series of '' Big Brother'' in 2000. He is trained as a bricklayer, and has appeared in numerous television series related to building since winning ''Big Brother''. Early life The younger of two children and born in Liverpool, his family moved to Newport, Shropshire in the late 1980s. At 18, Phillips secured a day release bricklayers apprenticeship whilst employed with Wrekin Council's construction department.
