Ottakkayyan
''Ottakkayyan'' is a 2007 Malayalam film by G. R. Indugopan starring Harisree Ashokan, Rani Babu, Ashokan, and Arun. This movie marks the debut of Harisree Ashokan in the lead role of a movie. Synopsis Two members of different fundamentalist groups get trapped in a remote island on a midnight, after committing a murder. The island is connected to the main land only through a rail link, which is filled with rioting crowds. The young men comes into contact with the only inhabitants of the island, Ottakkayyan Vasu, his wife and father-in-law. From there the story develops into an unpredictable end. T. G. Ravindranathan (born 16 May 1944), popularly known as T. G. Ravi, is an Indian actor, mainly noted for his roles as a villain in Malayalam cinema. He along with Balan K. Nair played most of the negative roles in Malayalam cinema during the 1970s and 1980s. Known for his body language and style of dialogue delivery, he played some of the biggest villain roles in Malayalam cinema during that period. Early life and family T.G. Ashokan is an Indian actor known for his roles in Malayalam films. He made his film debut with ''Peruvazhiyambalam'' the film won the 1979 National film award for best feature film. He is best known for his roles in ''Yavanika'' (1982), ''Yuvajanotsavam'' (1986), ''Thoovanathumbikal'' (1987), ''Moonnam Pakkam'' (1988), ''In Harihar Nagar'' (1990), ''Amaram'' (1990) and ''2 Harihar Nagar'' (2009). Career He made his debut in 1979 in ''Peruvazhiyambalam'', directed by Padmarajan, where he played a 15-year-old boy who becomes a fugitive after killing a bully. Harisree Ashokan is an Indian actor and director who is known for his comedy roles in Malayalam films. Ashokan has acted in more than 200 Malayalam films. He started his career as a mimicry artist in the troupe Harisree and then worked in Kalabhavan. Early life Ashokan (nicknamed Babu) was born as the sixth child among ten children to the late Kunjappan and late Janaki on April 6, 1964, at Ernakulam, Kochi. M. L. Varghese (1960 – 3 February 2011), popularly known by stage name Machan Varghese, was a Malayalam film actor and mimicry artist. He started his career as a mimicry artist in Kalabhavan (house of arts) and debuted as an actor through ''Kabooliwala''. Thereafter he played many notable roles in Malayalam films, mainly as a comedian. His association with Siddique-Lal, Rafi-Mecartin and Lal Jose are particularly noted. The Kerala State Film Awards are the film awards for a motion picture made in Kerala. The awards started in 1969 by the Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala and since 1998 the awards have been bestowed by Kerala State Chalachitra Academy on behalf of the Department of Cultural Affairs. The awardees are decided by an independent jury formed by the academy and the Department of Cultural Affairs, Govt. of Kerala. The jury usually consists of eminent personalities from the film field.
