Osvaldo Ramón Núñez Riquelme, also known as Osvaldo Nunez (born 10 September 1938 in Curicó, Chile) was a member of the House of Commons of Canada from 1993 to 1997. His career has been in law, arbitration and labour. He was elected in the Bourassa electoral district under the Bloc Québécois party in the 1993 federal election, thus serving in the 35th Canadian Parliament. Bourassa (formerly known as Montreal—Bourassa) is a federal electoral district in Quebec, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 1968. Its population in 2016 was 101,032. Geography The district includes Montreal North and the eastern part of the neighbourhood of Sault-au-Récollet in the Borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville. The neighbouring ridings are Ahuntsic, Saint-Léonard—Saint-Michel, Honoré-Mercier, and Alfred-Pellan. 1993 Canadian Federal Election
The 1993 Canadian federal election was held on October 25, 1993, to elect members to the House of Commons of the 35th Parliament of Canada. Considered to be a major political realignment, it was one of the most eventful elections in Canada's history. Two new regionalist parties emerged and the election marked the worst defeat for a governing party at the federal level. In a landslide, the Liberal Party, led by Jean Chrétien, won a majority government. The election was called on September 8, 1993, by the new Progressive Conservative Party (PC) leader, Prime Minister Kim Campbell, near the end of her party's five-year mandate. The 35th Canadian Parliament was in session from January 17, 1994, until April 27, 1997.
