Ostereidet Church
Ostereidet Church ( no, Ostereidet kyrkje) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Alver Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Ostereidet. It is one of two churches for the Osterfjorden parish which is part of the Nordhordland prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The red, brick church was built in a long church design in 1988 using plans drawn up by the architect Bengt Suleng who worked for the Einar Vaardal-Lunde architectural firm. The church seats about 350 people. The church was consecrated on 18 December 1988. Alver is a municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Nordhordland. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Knarvik. Other villages include Alversund, Alver, Isdalstø, Lindås, Ostereidet, Seim, Manger, Askeland, Austmarka, Bøvågen, Haugland, Sæbø, Sletta, Frekhaug, Hjartås, Holme, Io, Krossneset, Meland, and Rossland. List Of Churches In Bjørgvin
The list of churches in Bjørgvin is a list of the Church of Norway churches in the Diocese of Bjørgvin which includes all of Vestland county in Norway. The list is divided into several sections, one for each deanery (; headed by a Provost (religion), provost) in the diocese. Administratively within each deanery, the churches are divided by municipalities each of which has their own church council () and then into parishes () which have their own councils (). Einar Vaardal-Lunde
Einar Vaardal-Lunde (1915–2003) was a Norwegian architect. Vaardal-Lunde was educated at the Norwegian Institute of Technology, graduating in 1940. After World War II, he participated in the rebuilding efforts and reconstruction in Finnmark until 1948. In 1948, he began his own architectural firm in partnership with Torgeir Alvsaker.
