Oscar (video Game)
''Oscar'' is a platform game that was released on Amiga, Amiga CD32, and MS-DOS in 1993, and the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1996. It was developed and published by Flair Software. The CD32 version was bundled with the CD32 console on the same disc as the puzzle game ''Diggers (computer game), Diggers''. A Sega Genesis version planned but never released. The player controls a character named Oscar through seven Hollywood (film industry), Hollywood-themed levels collecting Academy Awards, Oscars. Reception ''Computer Gaming World'' in April 1994 said that the PC version of ''Oscar'' was "another very average platformy, arcadey, bounce-'em-around" with "confusing" graphics. The magazine predicted that it "will only appeal to total platform addicts who will likely find something better to waggle their joysticks at anyway". Casual Arts, formerly known as Flair Software, is a British video game developer and publisher of the 1990s that developed and published games for the Amiga, Amiga CD32, Atari ST, Commodore 64, DOS, PlayStation (console), PlayStation, Sega Saturn and SNES. It was set up by Colin Courtney in 1990 after his previous company, Tynesoft, went bankrupt. It retained Tynesoft's MicroValue brand and published ''Elvira: The Arcade Game'' which had originally been scheduled for publication by Tynesoft. The company is mainly associated with popular and colourful Amiga games as ''Troll doll#Television, film and video games, Trolls'', ''Oscar (video game), Oscar'' and ''Whizz (video game), Whizz''.
