Flair Software
Casual Arts, formerly known as Flair Software, is a British video game developer and publisher of the 1990s that developed and published games for the Amiga, Amiga CD32, Atari ST, Commodore 64, DOS, PlayStation (console), PlayStation, Sega Saturn and SNES. It was set up by Colin Courtney in 1990 after his previous company, Tynesoft, went bankrupt. It retained Tynesoft's MicroValue brand and published ''Elvira: The Arcade Game'' which had originally been scheduled for publication by Tynesoft. The company is mainly associated with popular and colourful Amiga games as ''Troll doll#Television, film and video games, Trolls'', ''Oscar (video game), Oscar'' and ''Whizz (video game), Whizz''. In 1993 platformer ''Oscar (video game), Oscar'' was bundled with Millennium's ''Diggers (video game), Diggers'' as launch bundle for the Amiga CD32 and it was considered one of the mascot games for the system. DSiware
This is a list of games and applications, collectively known as DSiWare, for the Nintendo DSi handheld game console, available for download via the DSi Shop and unplayable on earlier DS models. An update released for the Nintendo 3DS in June 2011 added support for the Nintendo eShop service, which contained the DSi Shop's full library of DSiWare games (at the time) with the exception of certain games and applications. There were over 200 downloadable games available in North America as of August 2010. DSiWare games and applications typically have animated icons, but some of them, such as ''Bejeweled Twist'', have static icons. Diggers (video Game)
''Diggers'' is a puzzle video game for the Amiga CD32 in which the player takes control of a mining team excavating a planet for precious minerals. It was later released for the Amiga 1200 and MS-DOS. Diggers was bundled with the CD32 at launch, along with the platform game Oscar on the same CD. A sequel, '' Diggers 2: Extractors'', was released for MS-DOS in 1995. Gameplay The game is set on the planet Zarg, where four races are vying for the gems and ores buried there. The four races are: the Habbish, who dig quickly and have high endurance, yet are impatient and prone to wander off; Grablins, who dig the fastest, have good stamina but are weak fighters; Quarriors, who are slow diggers but strong fighters; and the F'Targs, who are mediocre but regain their health quickly. ''Whizz'' is a 1994 isometric platform game released for the Amiga, Amiga CD32, and DOS. In 1996, it was ported to the Super NES and in 1997 to the PlayStation and Sega Saturn. A Sega Mega Drive version was planned but never released. Within the game, "Whizz" refers to the player character's magical talents, being short for "wizard". Marketing for the game used it in reference to the slang term for urination, such as in the advertising slogan "Ever feel the need for a Whizz real bad? You will." Troll Doll
A Troll Doll (Danish: ''Gjøltrold'') is a type of plastic doll with furry up-combed hair depicting a troll, also known as a Dam doll after their creator Danish woodcutter Thomas Dam. The inspiration came from trolls in old Scandinavian folklore. The toys are also known as good luck trolls, or gonk trolls in the United Kingdom. The dolls were first created in the late 1950's, and introduced in 1959, before becoming one of the United States' biggest toy fads in the early 1960s. They became briefly popular again during the 1970s through the 1990s and were copied by several manufacturers under different names. During the 1990s, several video games and a video show were created based on troll dolls. In 2003, the Dam company restored the United States copyrights for this brand, stopping unlicensed production. Tynesoft Computer Software was a software developer and publisher in the 1980s and early 1990s. History The company was originally set up in 1983 to release educational software but soon moved into the video games market on which it concentrated for most of its time. It developed numerous games for a wide variety of 8-bit micros, particularly those less well catered for by other publishers such as the Commodore 16, BBC Micro and Atari 8-bit. The is a home video game console developed by Sega and released on November 22, 1994, in Japan, May 11, 1995, in North America, and July 8, 1995, in Europe. Part of the fifth generation of video game consoles, it was the successor to the successful Sega Genesis. The Saturn has a dual- CPU architecture and eight processors.
