Origin (Evanescence Demo Album)
''Origin'' is a demo album by American rock band Evanescence. A compilation of home-recorded demos from 1996-1999, the CD was self-released and sold at local shows, and then packaged to showcase to record labels. A total of 2,000 copies were made and sold by the Bigwig Enterprises website from November 4, 2000 to 2003. ''Origin'' contains demos written and recorded by co-founders Amy Lee and Ben Moody for their earlier independent EPs in the 1990s, including "Whisper", "Imaginary", and "My Immortal", which appear on their debut album ''Fallen'' (2003). Background As Evanescence, Lee and Moody had composed and home-recorded demos, including two EPs, ''Evanescence'' (1998) and ''Sound Asleep'' (1999), which they sold at their live shows. Evanescence
Evanescence is an American rock band founded in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1995 by singer and musician Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody. After recording independent EPs as a duo in the late 90's, and a demo CD, Evanescence released their debut studio album, ''Fallen'', on Wind-up Records in 2003. Propelled by the success of hit singles "Bring Me to Life" and "My Immortal", ''Fallen'' sold more than four million copies in the US by January 2004, garnering the band two Grammy Awards out of six nominations. A year later, the band released their first live album and concert DVD, ''Anywhere but Home'', which sold over one million copies worldwide. Bruce Fitzhugh
Bruce Fitzhugh is the second and best known lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and founding member of Arkansas's Christian metal band Living Sacrifice. The lead vocalist role was left to Bruce shortly after the departure of former lead Darren Johnson and prior to the recording of Living Sacrifice's 1997 album, ''Reborn''. Fitzhugh is featured in Zao's ''The Lesser Lights of Heaven'' DVD. Fitzhugh's nephew is Drew Garrison, Vocalist for Descended From Wolves and Becoming Saints. He has been involved in many other music endeavors such as producing The Showdown's debut album, ''A Chorus Of Obliteration''. Living Sacrifice
Living Sacrifice is an American Christian metal band formed in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1989. The band has released eight studio albums, out of which the first three were recorded under R.E.X. Records with their original vocalist Darren Johnson as a more thrash metal and death metal oriented band. The band evolved into a groove metal and metalcore style beginning with ''Reborn'' (1997) under Solid State Records with the original guitarist Bruce Fitzhugh on vocals. In 2003, the group disbanded due to other projects and later their label, Solid State, released their best-of album, ''In Memoriam'' (2005). The name for the magazine, ''Alternative Press'', was not a reference to the alternative rock genre, but referred to the fanzine being an alternative to the local press. ''Lost Whispers'' is a compilation album by American rock band Evanescence. It was released on December 9, 2016 on digital music platforms, and included in the six-LP vinyl box set ''The Ultimate Collection'' released on February 17, 2017, by The Bicycle Music Company. The album is a collection of B-sides, outtakes, bonus tracks, and two new recordings: "Lost Whispers", a 2009 tour intro, and a re-recording of "Even in Death", originally on their 2000 demo album, ''Origin''. Wind-up Entertainment was an American independent record label founded by Alan and Diana Meltzer in 1997. It was based in New York City and was distributed by BMG Distribution. Wind-up's best-selling artists worldwide were Creed and Evanescence.
