Oriental Daily News (Malaysia)
''Oriental Daily News'' () is one of Malaysia's daily Chinese language, Chinese-language newspapers, published in broadsheet format. It was officially launched on New Year's Day 2003. The newspaper group is owned by KTS Group, a Sarawak timber company founded by late Datuk Lau Hui Kang. The newspaper actually published its first issue on 29 September 2002, but its publication's permit was suspended by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Malaysia), Malaysian Home Ministry. The suspension was subsequently lifted in December 2002. It was reported a large numbers of journalists from the Nanyang Siang Pau, Nanyang Press and China Press left to join this newspaper group. In 2014, ''Oriental Daily News'' was endorsed by the Malaysian branch of FIABCI (:de:FIABCI, de) as the official Chinese newspaper for the Malaysia Property Awards. Nanyang Siang Pau
''Nanyang Siang Pau'' or ''Nanyang Business Daily'' () was founded by philanthropist-entrepreneur Tan Kah Kee on 6 September 1923 in Straits Settlements, currently published in Malaysia. ''Nanyang Siang Pau'' is one of the oldest Chinese-language newspapers in the country, with only ''Kwong Wah Yit Poh'' having been published longer. It has been published continuously except for four months in 1923 and 1924 and during the World War II between 1942 and 1945, before publication resumed on 8 September 1945. History Originally started in Straits Settlements, the newspaper first ventured into Kuala Lumpur in 1958, but the newspaper remains printed in Singapore. In 1962, the headquarters of ''Nanyang Siang Pau'' moved to Kuala Lumpur, first with Jalan Travers, Brickfields and followed by Jalan Bangsar in 1972. Datuk (or its variant Dato or Datu) is a Malay title commonly used in Brunei, Indonesia, and Malaysia, as well as a traditional title by Minangkabau people in West Sumatra, Indonesia.
