Orange Line Bikeway
The Orange Line Bikeway is a cycle route in Los Angeles County, California that runs and “spans the lengths of the San Fernando Valley’s major communities” from Chatsworth to North Hollywood, “connecting such places as Pierce College, the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area, the Van Nuys Government Center and Valley College.” The Orange Line Bikeway's “seventeen-point-nine miles of exclusive, smooth, and lush active mobility glory” runs alongside the G Line bus rapid transit route. The Orange Line Bikeway is one of two major bicycle routes in Los Angeles that share dedicated rights-of-way with mass transit, the other being the Expo Line Bikeway in west L.A. Chatsworth station (also known as Chatsworth Transportation Center) is an intermodal passenger transport station in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Chatsworth, California, United States. It is served by Amtrak intercity rail service, Metrolink commuter rail service, Los Angeles Metro Busway bus rapid transit, and several transit bus operators. It is also the northern terminus of the Metro G Line. Zev Yaroslavsky (born December 21, 1948) is a politician from Los Angeles County, California. He was a member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors from District 3, which includes the San Fernando Valley, the Westside of Los Angeles and coastal areas between Venice and the Ventura County line. Impervious surfaces (roads, parking lots and sidewalks) are constructed during land development. Sepulveda Dam Recreation Area
The Sepulveda Dam is a project of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers designed to withhold winter flood waters along the Los Angeles River. Completed in 1941, at a cost of $6,650,561 (), it is located south of center in the San Fernando Valley, approximately eight miles east of the river's source in the western end of the Valley, in Los Angeles, California. Sepulveda Dam, along with Hansen Dam located in the north San Fernando Valley, was constructed in response to the historic 1938 floods which killed 144 people. Browns Creek Bike Path is a Class I bike path that is “tucked away from the surrounding hustle and bustle” of the San Fernando Valley, “hugging the side” of the Browns Canyon Wash. The path begins at Lassen Street, just east of Chatsworth Metrolink Station, and ends just north of Rinaldi Street near Stoney Point Park. The Chandler Boulevard Bike Path is a Class I rail trail off-street bike route that runs from North Hollywood to Burbank in Los Angeles County, California.
