Lara Veronin
Lara Veronin, also known as Lara Liang (Chinese:), is a Taiwanese singer. Career Nan Quan Mama Lara was born in California, United States in 1988, and she moved back to Taipei, Taiwan with her older sister, Esther Veronin, and her parents in 2001, where she graduated from Taipei American School in 2006. Having participated in music performances and music groups from a young age, Veronin was discovered in 2005 by Taiwanese pop star Jay Chou and became the female frontman in Chou's second iteration of his band project: "Nan Quan Mama". That same year, Lara also skyrocketed to fame when she released a duet with Jay Chou titled "Coral Sea" (). Kevin Lin (林義傑, November 19, 1976) is a Taiwanese ultramarathon runner from Taipei. Background Based in Taipei, Lin is one of the best known endurance athletes in Asia. Lin, together with Charlie Engle and Ray Zahab, became the first modern runner to cross the Sahara Desert on February 21, 2007. He had agreed to work with the H2O Africa project and be part of the first team of runners to cross the Sahara from coast to coast. The expedition was filmed and edited into a documentary, Running the Sahara, narrated by Matt Damon and released in November 2007 with the logistics support of Sam Rutherford. Nan Quan Mama
Nan Quan Mama () is a Taiwanese music group. The name is a phrase in Mandarin to explain having strength while being gentle as a mother. They are closely tied with the well-known artist Jay Chou, but it was revealed after Lara and Chase Chang went solo that the name came from Jay's pen name when he was in high school when he started writing songs, and it was meant to mean 'Nan Quan's Mother', so it was actually a metaphor for Jay's mother. Mandopop
Mandopop or Mandapop refers to Standard Chinese, Mandarin popular music. The genre has its origin in the jazz-influenced popular music of 1930s Shanghai known as Shidaiqu; with later influences coming from Japanese enka, Hong Kong's Cantopop, Taiwan's Hokkien pop, and in particular the School campus song, Campus Song folk movement of the 1970s. 'Mandopop' may be used as a general term to describe popular songs performed in Mandarin. Vincent Fang (; born 26 January 1969) is a Taiwanese lyricist, best known for his collaboration with singer-songwriter Jay Chou. Fang has been nominated for multiple Golden Melody Awards, and won ''Best Lyricist'' at the 19th Golden Melody Awards for Jay Chou's "青花瓷" (Blue and White Porcelain) from ''On the Run''. He is considered to be at the forefront of China Wind music, with his works often treated as poetry of artistic merit that garners high critical regard. The Golden Melody Awards (), commonly abbreviated as GMA, is an honor awarded by Taiwan's Ministry of Culture to recognize outstanding achievement in the Mandarin, Taiwanese Hokkien, Hakka, and Formosan-languages popular and traditional music industry.
