Opinion Polling For The 2011 New Zealand General Election
Opinion polling has been commissioned throughout the duration of the 49th New Zealand Parliament and in the leadup to the 2011 election by various organisations. The main four are Television New Zealand, TV3, ''The New Zealand Herald'' and Roy Morgan Research. The sample size, margin of error and confidence interval of each poll varies by organisation and date. Party vote and key events Refusals are generally excluded from the party vote percentages, while question wording and the treatment of "don't know" responses and those not intending to vote may vary between survey firms. 49th New Zealand Parliament
The 49th New Zealand Parliament was elected at the 2008 New Zealand general election, 2008 election. It comprised 122 members, including an overhang seat, overhang of two seats (an increase of one from the 48th New Zealand Parliament, 48th Parliament) caused by the Māori Party having won two more electorate seats than its share of the party vote would otherwise have given it. Conservative Party Of New Zealand
New Conservative is a List of political parties in New Zealand, political party in New Zealand. Observers have described the party's policies as far-right, though the party now states it has moved to a more centrist position under new leadership. It advocates for lower taxation, Anti-abortion movement, anti-abortion measures and Austerity, austerity cuts. It was founded as the Conservative Party in August 2011 by businessman and political activist Colin Craig, who led the party from its foundation until his resignation in June 2015. 2009 Mount Albert By-election
The 2009 Mount Albert by-election was held in the New Zealand electorate of on 13 June 2009. There were fifteen candidates in the election. David Shearer of the Labour Party won the election with 63% of the vote. The seat was vacated by former Labour Prime Minister Helen Clark, who resigned from the New Zealand Parliament on 17 April 2009 following her appointment to head the United Nations Development Programme. Main issues surrounding the campaign included the building of the Waterview Connection and the Auckland Region becoming a supercity. Jeanette Fitzsimons
Jeanette Mary Fitzsimons (née Gaston; 17 January 1945 – 5 March 2020) was a New Zealand politician and environmentalist. She was the co-leader of the Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand from 1995 to 2009, and was a Member of Parliament from 1996 to 2010. Early life Born in Dunedin on 17 January 1945, Fitzsimons was the daughter of Doris Mary Gaston (née Harrison) and John Fisher Gaston. Metiria Leanne Agnes Stanton Turei (born 1970) is a New Zealand academic and a former New Zealand politician. She was a Member of Parliament from 2002 to 2017 and the female co-leader of the Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand from 2009 to 2017. Turei resigned from the co-leader position on 9 August 2017 amid a political controversy arising from her admission to lying to the Ministry of Social Development to receive higher payments when she was on the Domestic Purposes Benefit and later, to being enrolled to vote in an electorate where she was not eligible when she was 23. The New Zealand budget for fiscal year 2009-2010 was presented to the New Zealand House of Representatives by Finance Minister Bill English on 28 May 2009. John Key
Sir John Phillip Key (born 9 August 1961) is a New Zealand retired politician who served as the 38th prime minister of New Zealand, Prime Minister of New Zealand from 2008 to 2016 and as Leader of the New Zealand National Party from 2006 to 2016.
