Operation Captura
Operation Captura is a multi-agency operation to detain criminals wanted by UK law enforcement who are hiding in Spain. In particular, the National Crime Agency (NCA) and crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers launch appeals—the ninth was launched in 2015—seeking Britain's most wanted fugitives, aiming for maximum news media coverage. While UK agencies have no mandate to operate outside the UK, the operation provides anonymous call facilities in Spain, seeking to locate suspects for whom a European Arrest Warrant has been issued, who can then be arrested by local law enforcement and their extradition to the UK sought. National Crime Agency
The National Crime Agency (NCA) is a national law enforcement agency in the United Kingdom. It is the UK's lead agency against organised crime; human, weapon and drug trafficking; cybercrime; and economic crime that goes across regional and international borders; but it can be tasked to investigate any crime. Crimestoppers Trust is an independent crime-fighting charitable organisation in the United Kingdom. Crimestoppers operates the 0800 555 111 telephone number, allowing people to call anonymously to pass on information about crime. People can also give information anonymously via an anonymous online form on the Crimestoppers website. Callers are not required to give their name or any personal information. Crimestoppers has more than 100 staff and almost 350 volunteers and has an income of more than £4.5M a year. National Police Corps
The National Police Corps ( es, Cuerpo Nacional de Policía, link=no, CNP; ; also known simply as National Police, ) is the national civilian police, police force of Spain. Guardia Civil
The Civil Guard ( es, Guardia Civil, link=no; ) is the oldest law enforcement agency in Spain and is one of two national police forces. Operation Identify Me
Operation Identify Me was launched on 10 May 2023 by Interpol to solve cold cases across Western Europe to identify 22 unidentified women who were found deceased in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany between 1976 and 2019. Most of the women were murdered, and have never been identified. A public appeal was made for information surrounding the unidentified women. Interpol alongside Dutch, German, and Belgian police forces released forensic facial reconstructions as well as other information used in the investigations. It is believed some of the murdered women may be from parts of Eastern Europe. Cases The murder cases span five decades. The bodies were discovered between October 1976 and August 2019. Their average ages range from 15 to 30. Most of the women suffered violent deaths.
