ONEFOUR (stylised in all caps) are an Australian drill and rap group originating from the Western Sydney suburb of Mount Druitt. They are regarded by many as the pioneers of drill-rap in Australia. Paving the way for the Australian Drill scene, heavily influenced by the drill scenes of the UK and New York. The group consists of 5 core members, Spenny, YP, Celly, Lekks, and J Emz. YP and J Emz are brothers. Their 2019 singles "The Message" and "Spot the Difference" caught the attention of rap fans internationally, particularly in the UK. The group's debut album ''Against All Odds'', released November 2020 peaked at #7 on the ARIA Charts (Australia) and #8 in New Zealand. Mount Druitt
Mount Druitt is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is located west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Blacktown, and is part of the Greater Western Sydney region. There are numerous encompassing, smaller suburbs nearby including Bidwill, Blackett, Dharruk, Emerton, Hebersham, Lethbridge Park, Minchinbury, Shalvey, Tregear, Whalan, and Willmot. History Major George Druitt (1773–1842) was granted in the area by Governor Macquarie. He named his grant, where he died in 1842, Mount Druitt. Michael Kyle Williams (born September 23, 1998), known professionally as Sheff G, is an American rapper from the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, New York. He rose to fame with his single "No Suburban" in 2017 which was a response to the song "Suburban" by 22Gz. Williams is widely known as one of the vanguards of the Brooklyn drill movement. Early life Michael Williams was born on September 23, 1998 in Brooklyn, New York to a Trinidadian mother and Haitian father. He was raised in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn. He was influenced and inspired to rap by listening to I.G. and Chicago drill rappers like Lil Bibby and Chief Keef. Before getting into music, Sheff G joined the 83 (Eight Trey) Gangsta Crips at age 12, and was imprisoned for 2 years for a felony gun charge. UK drill is a subgenre of drill music and road rap that originated in the South London district of Brixton from 2012 onwards. Initially borrowing heavily from the style of Chicago drill music before creating its own unique sound, UK drill artists often rap about violent and hedonistic criminal lifestyles. Typically, those who create this style of music are affiliated with gangs or come from socioeconomically-deprived neighbourhoods where crime is a way of life for many.
