One Town, One Product (Philippines)
One Town, One Product (OTOP) is a promotional program of the government of the Philippines. OTOP aims to promote goods and products of Filipino towns, cities, and regions, and provides funding for small businesses. It is administered by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM). History The Philippines' OTOP program was proposed by then-President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo as early as 2002 and launched in 2004. The OTOP program was originally scheduled to end in 2010. DBM dropped OTOP funding in spring 2011. However, current Filipino President Benigno 'Noynoy" Aquino has authorized the continuation of the OTOP program. Davao del Norte ( ceb, Amihanang Dabaw; tl, Hilagang Davao), officially the Province of Davao del Norte, is a province in the Philippines located in the Davao Region in Mindanao. One Town One Product (OTOP) is a project begun in 1989 and supervised by the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration (SMEA) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of the Republic of China (ROC) to promote products from the territories in the ROC jurisdiction. History In 1989, to promote local companies in Taiwan, the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration, an organization under the control of Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs, had adapted the concept of " One Town One Product" from Japan and formed an expert team to research local industries and distinctive products in Taiwan. One Village One Product Movement
The is a Japanese regional development program. It began in Ōita Prefecture in 1979 when the then-governor Morihiko Hiramatsu advocated the program. Implementation started in 1980. Communities selectively produce goods with high added value. One village produces one competitive and staple product as a business to gain sales revenue to improve the standard of living for the residents of that village. Among them are shiitake, ''kabosu'', greenhouse ''mikan'', beef, ''aji'', and barley ''shōchū''. Over 300 products have been selected. Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra of Thailand initiated a similar program, One Tambon One Product. One Tambon One Product
One Tambon One Product (OTOP) is a local entrepreneurship stimulus program designed by Thailand's former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra during his 2001-2006 Thai Rak Thai government. The program aimed to support locally made and marketed products of each of Thailand's 7,255 tambons (sub-district). Drawing its inspiration from Japan's successful One Village One Product (OVOP) program, the OTOP program encourages village communities to improve the quality and marketing of local products, selecting one superior product from each tambon to receive formal branding as its "starred OTOP product". It provides both a local and national stage to the promote these products. OTOP includes a large array of local products, including traditional handicrafts, cotton and silk garments, pottery, fashion accessories, household items, and foods. Santa Fe, officially the Municipality of Santa Fe ( gad, Ili na Santa Fe; ilo, Ili ti Santa Fe; tl, Bayan ng Santa Fe), is a 4th class municipality in the province of Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines.
