''Mermaid Avenue'' is a 1998 album of previously unheard lyrics written by American folk singer Woody Guthrie, put to music written and performed by British singer Billy Bragg and the American band Wilco. The project was the first of several such projects organized by Guthrie's daughter, Nora Guthrie, original director of the Woody Guthrie Foundation and archives. ''Mermaid Avenue'' was released on the Elektra Records label on June 23, 1998. A second volume of recordings, ''Mermaid Avenue Vol. II'', followed in 2000 and both were collected in a box set alongside volume three in 2012 as '' Mermaid Avenue: The Complete Sessions''. The projects are named after the song " Mermaid's Avenue", written by Guthrie. This was also the name of the street in Coney Island, New York, on which Guthrie lived. ''Sounds from Nowheresville'' is the second studio album by English indie pop duo The Ting Tings, released on 24 February 2012 by Columbia Records. It was by preceded the lead single " Hang It Up", which was released on 27 December 2011. Although their 2010 single "Hands" was originally reported not to appear on the album, the duo confirmed on Twitter that it would appear on the deluxe edition of the album. ''Looking Glass'' is the self-titled debut album released by the band Looking Glass in 1972. Background The group had been playing all up and down the East Coast in clubs, and one night they were spotted by Clive Davis at the Whisky a Go Go. Davis, who at the time was the president of Columbia Records, signed them to the Epic Records label. After trying to record two times (once with Steve Cropper in Memphis), the band began working with Bob Liftin and recorded " Brandy (You're a Fine Girl)". It was not released as the single's A-side, but as the B-side to "Don't It Make You Feel Good" in early 1972. The song went unnoticed by most, but not by Harv Moore, a disc jockey in Washington, D.C. Laza Morgan (born December 13, 1978 in Springfield, Massachusetts) is a Jamaican American reggae singer and rapper. Son of the reggae musician and artist Denroy Morgan, he started as a member of the Jamaican dancehall / hip hop trio formation LMS, alongside his siblings Noshayah Morgan and Miriam Morgan.
