Ondřej Soukup
Ondřej Soukup (born 2 May 1951) is a Czech musician and composer. He has written soundtracks for over twenty feature films, including Jan Svěrák's ''Kolya'', an Academy Awards, Academy Award-winner for best foreign film in 1997, and ''Dark Blue World'', for which Soukup received his second Czech Lion award for best soundtrack, in 2001. He was also a jury member for the talent show ''Česko hledá SuperStar''. Career Soukup graduated from the Prague Conservatory in 1975, then played bass in various jazz and pop bands, including Pražský výběr and Pavel Fořt's group Labyrint. In the early 1980s, Soukup began playing with Karel Gott and also composed and arranged music of his own. He later became a full-time composer and also produced records for other artists. In 1983, Soukup wrote music for his first feature film, ''Druhý tah pěšcem''. Jiří Korn
Jiří Korn (born May 17, 1949 in Prague, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech recording artist and actor. Korn is a highly acclaimed musician in his native Czechoslovakia, and remains after his five decade long career one of the most prominent Czech singer-songwriters, but is internationally perhaps best known for his single ''Miss Moskva'', which received radio play in most European countries, including France, Germany, Croatia, Hungary and Norway. Biography Jiří Korn began his music career with the rock band Rebels in its 1967 establishment. The group disbanded in 1970; one album, ''Šípková Růženka'', was released during this period. In the early 1970s Korn joined the band Olympic. He also became a solo artist and released his first album ''LP 01''. ''The Devil's Mistress'' is a 2016 Czech–Slovak historical biography film directed by Filip Renč and produced by Jiří Jurtin. The film stars the Slovak actress Tatiana Pauhofová who plays Lída Baarová, the mistress of Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels. Lída Baarová was a star actress in Czechoslovakia, later moving to Germany to appear in the film ''Barcarole''. There, she would be roped into the life of Joseph Goebbels and into the political lives of the Nazi Party elite. Synopsis and summary The film largely centers around the experiences of Lída Baarová and her feelings regarding the moral dilemma of being romantically involved with a senior Nazi officer. Political and social turmoil within the early Nazi Germany are also shown, with the ending of the film featuring the events of Kristallnacht. The film is a comedy from the same team which made Kolya. Plot Josef Tkaloun is an elderly teacher at a high school in Prague who cannot control his anger when his pupils misbehave in his poetry class. He quits his job and despite his wife urging him to retire, becomes a cycle courier. After an inevitable accident, he still refuses to stay at home and takes a job in the local Žižkov supermarket. He works behind a counter, recycling glass beer bottles. There he begins to flirt with the customers and matchmake both for an old friend and for the man he works with. It won the audience award at the Tromsø International Film Festival in 1996. Plot After a young surveyor, Olda (Petr Forman), watches himself on television, and his colleagues Slezák ( Bolek Polívka) steals his love interest Jitka ( Tereza Pergnerová), he is suddenly completely without energy and ends up unconscious for three days. In hospital he meets Fišarek (Zdeněk Svěrák), a healer who is visiting his neighbour, Mikulík (Jiří Kodet). ''Bony a klid'' is a Czech drama film directed by Vít Olmer. It was released in 1987. Plot The film is set in Prague. Martin, a young man from Mladá Boleslav, becomes a victim of a fraud committed by Richard, a currency dealer (trading foreign currencies was illegal in Czechoslovakia during the socialist era). Seeking to get his money back, he attempts to track Richard down and eventually joins his gang, consisting of Hary, Bíny and Slepejš. He quickly adapts to the lifestyle of big money, debauched parties, prostitutes, and police raids. Bíny betrays one of their deals to a rival gang, led by Karel, and they find themselves on the run from the police. They attempt to seek shelter in Mladá Boleslav, but are eventually found and during the chase, Hary falls to his death from a balcony. The gang appears in court and is sentenced to serve jail time.
