Olé Olé (band)
Olé Olé was a popular Spanish band of the 1980s. The group went through three phases of popularity broadly coinciding with three female vocalists. The group began with singer Vicky Larraz (1982–1985). After Larraz went solo came Marta Sánchez (1986–1991) in years that saw increasing success in Latin America. After Sánchez also went solo came the third singer :es:Sonia Santana (1992–1993). The beginnings of the group: Vicky Larraz 1982–1985 The story of Olé Olé began in 1982, when the CBS label decided to create a new techno-pop group in the Mecano line. The one in charge of choosing the members was Argentine producer Jorge Álvarez, who also produced the first Mecano records. This is how Luis Carlos Esteban met, who came from the group Trastos, Emilio Estecha, from the group Plástico and Juan Tarodo († 2013). As a singer they chose Vicky Larraz. Crucis (band)
Crucis was an Argentine band considered one of the pioneers of the Argentine progressive rock. History Crucis was formed in 1974 by Gustavo Montesano (guitar, vocals), José Luis Fernández ( bass), Daniel Leonardo Frenkel (drums) and Daniel Oil (keyboards). When Fernández left the band, Montesano became the new bass player. Later on Marrone and Kerpel joined the band. In 1975 Daniel Leonardo Frenkel left the band and Farrugia replaced him. Marta Sánchez
Marta Sánchez López (born 8 May 1966) is a Spanish singer. She has sold in excess of 10 million albums. Biography Marta was born in Madrid (Spain). Her father, Antonio Sánchez Camporro, was an Asturian opera singer. She began her musical career with the band Cristal Oskuro, but shortly after she was discovered by Tino Azores, a sound technician for the popular pop/rock group Olé Olé. In 1985, Marta became the band's lead singer replacing Vicky Larraz, which brought her to fame and made her one of the biggest sex symbols of the 1980s in Spain, during a time when the country was easing the traditional rigid moral values of Catholicism. Her first hit with Olé Olé was "Lili Marlen", a Spanish adaptation of the popular World War II German love song (Its greatest hit was singing this same theme in the Televisión Española New Year Celebration, aired on 31 December 1986). Jorge Álvarez (producer)
Jorge Álvarez (1932 – July 5, 2015) was an Argentine publisher and record producer, considered one of the most important promoters of Argentine culture in the 1960s and 1970s, first in the world of literature and later in the world of music. In 1963, he founded the publishing house Editorial Jorge Álvarez and later Ediciones de la Flor, from which he released the work of writers like Rodolfo Walsh, Ricardo Piglia, Manuel Puig, Joaquín Lavado, David Viñas, Marta Lynch, Leopoldo Torre Nilsson and Juan José Saer, as well as the ''Mafalda'' comic strip by cartoonist Quino. Between 1963 and 1968, he published around three hundred books that marked "a milestone in Argentine and Latin American literature." Nacho Cano
Ignacio Cano Andrés (b. Madrid, 26 February 1963), better known as Nacho Cano, is a Spanish arranger, composer, musician and record producer. He and his brother showed an interest in music in their young lives. At 5, he began to play the Spanish guitar and at 12 he started his first band called "Prisma", with Toti Arboles and Eduardo Benavente, both of whom would later make up the core of the sociocultural movement that took place in Spain after Franco's death, known as the "Movida Madrileña". After playing in several different bands in his early teens, Nacho formed Mecano with his brother José María Cano, Jose and his brother's friend Ana Torroja. Hispavox S.A. was a major Spanish record company founded on June 27, 1953, that run independently until 1985 when it was acquired by EMI. Their studios were located in Madrid, and were known among fans as Sonido Torrelaguna. EMI owned the Hispavox record label, manufactured for other labels and distributed in Spain foreign labels. The Hispavox name is retained by Warner Music Group after its acquisition of Parlophone Music Spain in 2013.
