Olney RFC
Olney Rugby Football Club is an amateur club playing Rugby Football Union. The club was formed in 1877 in the market town of Olney, near Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. It is a community rugby club. The club currently fields teams in seniors, ladies, girls and mini & junior categories as well as running Touch Rugby sessions. The club also organises and runs the annual Olney 7s Tournament - one of the premier Sevens tournaments in the area, which is part of the England Rugby 7s series In 2019 the club was awarded The Queens Award for Voluntary Service. Buckinghamshire Rugby Football Union
The Buckinghamshire Rugby Football Union is the sports governing body, governing body for the sport of rugby union in the county of Buckinghamshire in England. The union is the constituent body of the Rugby Football Union (RFU) for Buckinghamshire, and administers and organises rugby union clubs and competitions in the county. It also administers the Buckinghamshire county rugby representative teams. The union was founded at a meeting at High Wycombe on 16 July 1949 during a drinking session at one of the founders house. Senior county team Buckinghamshire has a county rugby team that has taken part in the County Championship (rugby union), County Championships since 1966. Alexander Bell (cricketer)
Alexander (Alec) Patrick Bell (23 February 1915 – 12 April 1956) was an Argentine born English cricketer and rugby union player. Bell was a right-handed batsman and played centre for the Northampton Saints rugby team. He was born at Rosario, Santa Fe. Bell made three first-class appearances for Northamptonshire in the 1934 County Championship against Worcestershire, Middlesex and Glamorgan. In these three matches, he scored a total of just 37 runs at an average of 6.16, with a high score of 24. He later made thirteen Minor Counties Championship appearances for Hertfordshire between 1946 and 1949. As a rugby player he was a prolific try-scoring centre and captained the Northampton Saints for 3 years from 1943 to 1946. Bell died from a brain trauma at Oxford, Oxfordshire on 12 April 1956. Counties 1 Southern North (formerly known as Southern Counties North) is a division at level 7 of the English rugby union system. When league rugby first began in 1987 it was a single league known as Southern Counties but since 1996 the division was split into two regional leagues - Southern Counties North and Southern Counties South. Counties 1 Southern North currently sits at the seventh tier of club rugby union in England and primarily featuring teams based in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. Berks/Bucks & Oxon Premier
Berks, Bucks & Oxon Premier is a division at level 8 of the English rugby union system featuring teams from Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. Promoted teams usually move up to Southern Counties North while relegated teams used to drop to the Berks/Bucks & Oxon Championship, although this division has been discontinued as of the end of the 2018–19 season. Each year three teams (one each from the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire unions) are picked to take part in the RFU Senior Vase (a level 8 national cup competition). When the league was introduced in 1987 it was known as Bucks/Oxon 1 and was set up originally for teams from Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. Thomas Vivien Colin Hardwick (born 24 March 1999) is an English professional rugby union player, currently unattached the last club he played for was SC Albi, who play in France's third national division of rugby union. He previously played 32 games for Leicester Tigers between 2017 and 2021. He usually plays fly half or centre. Early life and education Hardwick's father is former prop Rob Hardwick. Duncan Taylor (rugby Union)
Duncan Taylor (born 5 September 1989) is a Scottish retired professional rugby union player. His regular playing position was centre. He played for Saracens in Premiership Rugby between 2012 and 2023, during this period the club won several Premiership's and three European Cups. Early life and education Taylor travelled extensively during his childhood and lived in England, Scotland and Australia. He qualifies for Scotland through his Scottish parents. William John Heaton Greenwood, MBE (born 20 October 1972) is an English former rugby union player who played for Leicester Tigers and Harlequins and was a member of England's 2003 World Cup-winning team and the 1997 British & Irish Lions. He played in the centre, mainly as an inside centre. He is the son of Dick Greenwood, who was a former England coach. Early life Born 20 October 1972 in Blackburn, Lancashire, Greenwood was educated at St Mary's Hall and Sedbergh School. Northamptonshire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Northamptonshire. Its limited overs team is called the Northants Steelbacks – a reference to the Northamptonshire Regiment which was formed in 1881. The name was supposedly a tribute to the soldiers' apparent indifference to the harsh discipline imposed by their officers. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out").
