Oliver Smith (actor)
Oliver Smith (born 29 May 1952) is an English actor. He is known for playing the role of Frank the Monster from the original ''Hellraiser'' film in 1987, as well as Mr. Browning and Skinless Frank from '' Hellbound: Hellraiser II'' film in 1988. In May–June 2010, Smith narrated the commercial for the DVD and Blu-ray releases of ''Life''. As Frank the Monster Oliver Smith's role in the original ''Hellraiser'' film is as Frank (the main villain in Hellraiser) after he is slain by Pinhead. Actor Sean Chapman plays Frank in his living state in the early stages of the film. ''Hellraiser'' is a 1987 British supernatural horror film written and directed by Clive Barker, and produced by Christopher Figg, based on Barker's 1986 novella ''The Hellbound Heart''. The film marked Barker's directorial debut. Its plot involves a mystical puzzle box that summons the Cenobite (Hellraiser), Cenobites, a group of extra-dimensional, Sadomasochism, sadomasochistic beings who cannot differentiate between pain and pleasure. ''Hellbound: Hellraiser II'' is a 1988 supernatural horror film directed by Tony Randel and starring Clare Higgins, Ashley Laurence, Kenneth Cranham and Doug Bradley. Pinhead (Hellraiser)
Pinhead (also known as Lead Cenobite or the Hell Priest, among other names and titles) is the main antagonist of the ''Hellraiser'' franchise. The character first appeared as an unnamed figure in the 1986 Clive Barker novella ''The Hellbound Heart''. When Clive Barker adapted the novella into the 1987 film ''Hellraiser'', he referred to the character in early drafts as "the Priest" but the final film gave no name. The production and make-up crew nicknamed the character "Pinhead"—derived from his bald head studded with nails—and fans accepted the sobriquet. The name was then used in press materials, tie-in media, and on-screen in some of the film's sequels, although Barker himself despises the moniker. Pinhead is one of the leaders of the Cenobites, said to be humans who were later transformed into demonic creatures blindly devoted to the practice of experimental sadomasochism.
