Olena Kravatska
Olena Vitaliyivna Kravatska ( uk, Олена Віталіївна Краватська; born 22 June 1992) is a Ukrainian sabre fencer. Competing in team events, she is the 2015 World silver medalist and 2016 Olympic silver medalist. Career Kravatska won a silver medal in the 2010 Junior European Championships and a team gold medal the same year in the Junior World Championships. In the 2013–14 season she took part in her first major competition amongst seniors. At the European Championships in Strasbourg, she ranked 2nd after the pools and received a bye. She was then defeated in the table of 32 by Germany's Sibylle Klemm and finished 17th. At the World Championships in Kazan, she was defeated in the table of 64 by Olympic silver medal Sofiya Velikaya. In the team event, she was selected as reserve into the Ukrainian team. The 44th FIE Fencing World Cup began in October 2014 and concluded in July 2015 at the 2015 World Fencing Championships held in Moscow. Season overview This edition was the first to feature the new Grand Prix format, consisting in nine events, three in each weapon, men and women fencing together. World Cup and Grand Prix competitions were spread over ten months instead of six. The calendar overhaul was designed to allow more time for the athletes to train and rest as well as to increase media visibility. Sofiya Aleksandrovna Velikaya ( rus, Софья Александровна Великая, , ˈsofʲjə vʲɪˈlʲikəjə; born 8 June 1985) is a Russian sabre fencer. Velikaya is a former European champion (four-time individual, six-time team), world champion (two-time individual, six-time team), and two-time Olympic team champion.
