Oleksii Novikov ( uk, Олексій Новіков, born 11 February 1996) is a Ukrainian professional strongman. He won the 2020 World's Strongest Man competition, becoming the second Ukrainian World's Strongest Man winner after Vasyl Virastyuk who won in 2004. He is also the champion of World's Ultimate Strongman (twice), Rogue Invitational, as well as the Europe’s Strongest Man in 2022. Biography He was born and raised in Kyiv. He is currently a student of Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics. Career 2016–2022 Novikov was the winner of Ukraine's Strongest Man every year from 2016 to 2019. He burst onto the international stage in 2019, finishing in 38th place in the Strongman Champions League. He is particularly known for his impressive pressing ability within strongman, as well as his prowess in the Atlas Stones and various moving events. 2014 World's Strongest Man
The 2014 World's Strongest Man was the 37th edition of World's Strongest Man. The event was held at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles, California, the same host city as the 2012 World's Strongest Man contest. The qualifying heats were held from March 22–25 and the finals on March 28 & 29. Unlike previous years when 10 athletes qualified for the finals, this year there were 12 qualifying spots. The top 2 from each heat qualified, as well as the 2 highest scoring 3rd place athletes from all 5 heats. The event was sponsored by the Commerce Casino and will begin broadcasting in the United States on the CBS Sports Network from July 4-August 13, 2014. The 2004 World's Strongest Man was the 27th edition of World's Strongest Man and was won by Vasyl Virastyuk from Ukraine. It was his first title after finishing third the previous year. Vasyl Virastyuk ( uk, Василь Вірастюк; born 22 April 1974), is a Ukrainians, Ukrainian politician and former strongman (strength athlete), strongman competitor. He is a brother of Roman Virastyuk.
