Olearia Obcordata
''Olearia obcordata'' is a species of flowering plant in the family Asteraceae and is endemic to Tasmania. It is a shrub that typically grows to a height of less than . It usually has wedge-shaped leaves arranged alternately along the branchlets, the narrower end towards the base, with three or five teeth on the ends. The flowers are arranged singly in leaf axils and are few in number with up to six ray florets. It was first formally described in 1847 by Joseph Dalton Hooker who gave it the name ''Eurybia obcordata'' in the ''London Journal of Botany'' from specimens collected by Ronald Campbell Gunn. In 1867, George Bentham changed the name to ''Olearia obcordata'' in '' Flora Australiensis''. Ben Lomond (Tasmania)
Ben Lomond is a mountain in the north-east of Tasmania, Australia. The mountain is composed of a central massif with an extensive plateau above and high outlier peaks projecting from the mountain. The highest feature on the plateau is the unimposing summit of Legges Tor, at 1572 m, on the northern aspect of the plateau. The southern end of the plateau is dominated by Stacks Bluff, , which is an imposing feature that drops away to a cliffline above the surrounding foothills. The prominent outlier peaks of Ragged Jack (), Mensa Moor () and Tower Hill () surround the plateau. Ben Lomond is east of Launceston in the Ben Lomond National Park. George Bentham (22 September 1800 – 10 September 1884) was an English botanist, described by the weed botanist Duane Isely as "the premier systematic botanist of the nineteenth century". Born into a distinguished family, he initially studied law, but had a fascination with botany from an early age, which he soon pursued, becoming president of the Linnaean Society in 1861, and a fellow of the Royal Society in 1862. He was the author of a number of important botanical works, particularly flora. He is best known for his taxonomic classification of plants in collaboration with Joseph Dalton Hooker, his ''Genera Plantarum'' (1862–1883). He died in London in 1884. Joseph Dalton Hooker
Sir Joseph Dalton Hooker (30 June 1817 – 10 December 1911) was a British botanist and explorer in the 19th century. He was a founder of geographical botany and Charles Darwin's closest friend. For twenty years he served as director of the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew, succeeding his father, William Jackson Hooker, and was awarded the highest honours of British science. Ronald Campbell Gunn, Fellow of the Royal Society, FRS, (4 April 1808 – 13 March 1881) was a South African-born Australian Botany, botanist and politician. Early life Gunn was born at Cape Town, Cape Colony, (now South Africa), the son of William Gunn, lieutenant in the 72nd Regiment of Foot, 72nd Regiment, and his wife Margaret, ''née'' Wilson.
