Olavi Lindblom
Olavi Lindblom (11 December 1911 – 13 August 1990) was a Finnish trade union leader and politician, born in Helsinki. He was a member of the Parliament of Finland from 1954 to 1966, representing the Social Democratic Party of Finland (SDP). He served as Deputy Minister of Transport and Public Works from 29 August 1958 to 13 January 1959. He was a presidential elector in the 1956 and 1962 presidential elections. He was the father of Seppo Lindblom Seppo Olavi Lindblom (born 9 August 1935, Helsinki) is a Finnish banker and politician from the Social Democratic Party. Seppo Olavi Lindblom (born 9 August 1935, Helsinki) is a Finnish banker and politician from the Social Democratic Party. He is a son of trade unionist Olavi Lindblom. Lindblom was Secretary of State 1968–1970 of Prime Minister Mauno Koivisto, and director of the Labor Movement Economic Research Institute 1970–1972 and a director in the Ministry of Finance of Finland 1973–1974. He became the Minister of Trade and Industry in 1972 and again from 1983 to 1987. He was appointed as director to the Bank of Finland in 1974 and was a member of its executive board since 1982.
