Ola Bøe
Ola Bøe (July 10, 1910 – September 7, 1986) was a Norwegians, Norwegian fiddler. Ola Bøe was born in the municipality of Vestre Slidre in Oppland Counties of Norway, county, Norway, the son of Per Person Bøe (1859–1922) and Rangdi Jakobsdotter (1867–1934). His father played the Hardanger fiddle but died when Ola was twelve years old. As a result, he learned many tunes from his mother, who was good at humming dance tunes. He also learned tunes from his elder brother Jørgen (1904–1986), and considered himself a student of Andris Øde, Alf Moe, and Olav Moe. Bøe moved to Oslo in 1935 and soon became an important fiddler in the folk music scene there. Geilo
is a centre in the municipality of Hol in Viken county, Norway. Geilo is primarily a ski resort town, with around 2,500 inhabitants. It is situated in the valley of Hallingdal, 250 km from Oslo and 260 km from Bergen. The Bergen Line facilitated Geilo's development as the first skiing resort in the country, and it is still one of the largest. It is also known for having some of the most luxurious and expensive holiday cabins in Norway. Bærum () is a municipality in the Greater Oslo Region in Norway that forms an affluent suburb of Oslo on the west coast of the city. Nadderud
Nadderud is a district in eastern Bærum, Norway. It was formerly farmland under one of Bærum's larger farms, named Nadderud, but since the 1950s it has been built up with housing, several schools and sporting facilities. The best known facility, which has made the name Nadderud nationally known, is the stadium Nadderud stadion. Parts of the district Nadderud have been absorbed by the growing suburban centre Bekkestua. Odd Bakkerud
Odd Bakkerud (June 11, 1931 – October 13, 1989) was a Norwegian fiddle player. Biography Bakkerud was from the parish of Nes in Buskerud, Norway. He was raised near the town of Nesbyen in the rural Halling Valley. Bakkerud first learned to play from the fiddler Jørgen Husemoen (1905–1976) from Nes and Kristian Øvrevollseie (1910–1973) from Hol, and he soon became a noted dance fiddler. He also took lessons from Truls Ørpen (1880–1958) from Krødsherad, improving his playing style over time, distinguishing himself as an outstanding concert fiddler, where he was on par with Kjetil Løndal (1907–1987) and Torleiv Bolstad (1915–1979). Olav Moe
Olav Moe (July 23, 1872 – August 11, 1967) was a Norwegians, Norwegian fiddler from the Valdres district. Olav Moe was born in the municipality of Vestre Slidre in Oppland Counties of Norway, county, Norway, the son of Mikkjel Olsen Moe (1849–1934) and Marit Pedersdotter Neste (1850–1878). He started playing fiddle at age seven. His playing style was based on that of Jørn Hilme and he learned the tradition from Jørn Røn, who played in the style of his father, Knut Ringestad, who had learned from Hilme. Moe also learned fiddle tunes from Ola Hamre, Ivar Ringestad, Ulrik i Jensestogun, and Ola Haugset. In 1897, he participated in a folk music competition in Bergen, and he was a frequent participant at competitions in the following years.
