Heukelom is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant, next to Oisterwijk and Berkel-Enschot. Heukelom was home to 249 people in 1840. Moergestel
Moergestel () is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the municipality of Oisterwijk, about 7 km East of Tilburg. History The village was first mentioned in 1147 as Gestele, and means "guest house". Moer (moorland / peat excavation settlement) was later added to distinguish from Luyksgestel. Moergestel started on a sandy ridge near the brook Reusel. It is started to develop when the roads from Tilburg to Eindhoven and Oisterwijk to Hilvarenbeek intersected in the village. The tower of the St John, the Baptish church dates from the 16th century. Later the church was added to the tower. Between 1930 and 1931, the church was replaced. Arnoldus Jozephus Meijer (5 May 1905 – 17 June 1965) was a Dutch fascist politician. Meijer was born in Haarlemmermeer. Brought up a devout Roman Catholic and educated in a number of seminaries he soon became influenced by Wouter Lutkie, a Catholic priest and fascist.Philip Rees, ''Biographical Dictionary of the Extreme Right Since 1890'' After a brief stopover in the Roman Catholic State Party, which he found far too moderate, Meijer began to write for the authoritarian ''De Rijkseenheid'' and the General Dutch Fascist League's ''De Fascist''. Johan Antony Barrau
Johan Antony Barrau (3 April 1873, Oisterwijk – 8 January 1953, Utrecht) was a Dutch mathematician, specializing in geometry. Barrau was educated at the Dutch Royal Naval College at Willemsoord and then at the University of Amsterdam. From 1891 to 1898, Barrau was an officer with the Royal Netherlands Navy, later with the Netherlands Marine Corps. However, he left the service and became a mathematics teacher at a Hogere Burgerschool in Dordrecht until 1900, then in Amsterdam. In 1907 he obtained his PhD at the University of Amsterdam under the supervision of Diederik Korteweg. From 1908 to 1913 Barrau was a mathematics professor at the Delft University of Technology. He was a professor of synthetic, analytical and descriptive differential geometry at the University of Groningen from 1913 to 1928. Nicolaus Van Esch
Nicolaus van Esch (Eschius) (1507 in Oisterwijk near 's-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands – 19 July 1578) was a Dutch Roman Catholic theologian and mystical writer. Life After finishing his classical studies in the school of the Hieronymites, he studied philosophy, theology, and canon law at the Catholic University of Leuven, but refused to take his doctor's degree. In 1530 he was ordained priest, and then settled in Cologne in order to devote himself to higher studies and the practice of Christian perfection. There he became the private tutor of a number of young men, mainly university students. Peter Canisius and Lawrence Surius are noted among his pupils. In Cologne, too, he made close friendships with several members of the Carthusian Order, among them Johann Landsberger, Gerhard Homontanus, and Theoderich and Bruno Loher.
