State Route 430 (SR 430, OH 430) is an east–west state highway in the northern portion of Ohio. The western terminus of State Route 430 is at an interchange with State Route 309 in Ontario. Its eastern terminus is at a T-intersection with State Route 603 just outside Mifflin. Route description This state highway runs through portions of Richland and Ashland Counties. Ontario is a city in Richland County in the U.S. state of Ohio. It was founded in 1834 on the western edge of the Allegheny Plateau, just west of the city of Mansfield. After being incorporated in 1958, Ontario became a heavy manufacturing center because of the Erie Railroad line, and its proximity to Mansfield. The county was created in 1808 and later organized in 1813. It is named for the fertile soil found there. Charles Mill is a reservoir located in central Ohio near the junction of State Routes 430 and 603. Charles Mill Lake is a quiet and enjoyable place for boating, camping, fishing, hunting, or hiking. State Route 603 (SR 603) is a north–south state highway in the northern portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. Its southern terminus is at State Route 95 near Perrysville, and its northern terminus is at State Routes 61 and 98 in Plymouth along the Baseline Road that separates Huron County and Richland County, and subsequently the southern boundary of the Firelands and Connecticut Western Reserve. History SR 603 was commissioned in 1938 along its current alignment, between Shiloh and SR 95. Between 1953 and 1955 the route was paved.
