State Route 338 (SR 338) was a state highway in the southeastern portion of the U.S. state of Ohio, entirely in Meigs County. Running along the Ohio River, the route existed from 1932 until about 2012. For most of its history, SR 338 ran along the river between Racine and Lebanon Township with both ends at SR 124. At the time of its removal from the state highway system, the last remnant of the route was a segment (designated by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) as SR 338-J) between US 33 near the Ravenswood Bridge The William S. Meigs County ( ) is a county located in the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 22,210. Its county seat is Pomeroy. The county is named for Return J. Meigs Jr., the fourth Governor of Ohio. Geography According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of , of which is land and (0.7%) is water. State Route 124 (SR 124) is an east–west state highway in the southern portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. Its western terminus is at State Route 134 nearly southeast of Martinsville, and its eastern terminus is near the unincorporated village of Torch at the concurrency of U.S. Route 50, State Route 7, and State Route 32 in extreme southeastern Athens County. The road passes through numerous villages along its route, many of them economically depressed. Ravenswood Bridge
The William S. Ritchie Jr. Bridge, more commonly known as the Ravenswood Bridge, is a two-lane cantilever bridge in the United States, connecting Ravenswood, West Virginia and rural Meigs County, Ohio, across the Ohio River. It has a total length of with a main span of . The bridge was completed in 1981. The bridge replaced a ferry that had crossed the river between Ravenswood at Walnut Street and rural Lebanon Township since at least 1908. When the bridge opened in 1981, on the Ohio side of the river, the bridge and its approach route carried the Ohio State Route 824 (SR 824). The crossing originally led to a winding two-lane SR 338. On the West Virginia side, the bridge carried West Virginia Route 338. In 2003, the SR 824 and WV 338 designations were removed when the US 33 relocation in Meigs County was completed and the US 33 designation was moved onto the bridge.
