This is a list of former high school athletic conferences in the Northeast Region of Ohio, as designated by the OHSAA. If a conference had members that span multiple regions, the conference is placed in the article of the region most of its former members hail from. Because the names of localities and their corresponding high schools do not always match and because there is often a possibility of ambiguity with respect to either the name of a locality or the name of a high school, the following table gives both in every case, with the locality name first, in plain type, and the high school name second in boldface type. Chalker High School
Chalker High School is a public high school in Southington Township, Trumbull County, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Southington Local School District. Their mascot is the Wildcats, and compete as a member of the Ohio High School Athletic Association and is a member of the Northeastern Athletic Conference. The original Chalker High School Building was closed in 2011 and relocated at 2482 OH-534, Southington, OH 44470. History Chalker High School is named for Newton Chalker, an attorney who was born in Southington in 1842. Chalker created an endowment for the high school when schools in the township agreed to consolidate smaller schools in a central location. The town agreed to consolidation, and the original campus was completed in 1907, consisting of the Chalker High School building and a smaller elementary school. Bristol High School (Ohio)
Bristol High School is a public high school in Bristolville, Ohio, Trumbull County, Ohio. It is the only school in the Bristol Local School District as the elementary school was added to the building in the early 2000s. Mascot is the Panthers, and compete as a member of the Ohio High School Athletic Association and is a member of the Northeastern Athletic Conference. History Education in Bristol Township began in 1810, though secondary schooling as not introduced until near the end of the 19th century. The first students at Bristol High School graduated in 1888. Vienna Mathews High School is a public high school in Vienna, Ohio. Trumbull County, Ohio It is the only high school in the Mathews Local School District. Ledgemont High School was a public high school in Thompson Township, Geauga County, Ohio. It was the only high school in the Ledgemont Local Schools district. Their nickname was the Redskins. Chardon High School
Chardon High School (commonly Chardon, Chardon High, or CHS), is a public high school in Chardon, Ohio, USA, serving students in grades 8- 12. The school is part of the Chardon Local School District, with admission based primarily on the location of students' homes. As of the 2005-06 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,153 students and 60.2 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student-teacher ratio of 19.2. Shooting On February 27, 2012, six students were shot at the school by 17-year-old T.J. Lane. According to local news reports, the six victims were chosen at random, countering early reports that a group of students were targeted. Three of the victims died.
