picture info	Ohan Durian Ohan Durian or Duryan ( hy, Օհան Դուրյան; September 8, 1922, Jerusalem - January 6, 2011, Yerevan) was an Armenian conductor and composer. Life and career Ohan Durian was born Hanna Khatchadurian in Jerusalem. From 1939 to 1945 he studied composition, conducting and organ at the Jerusalem Conservatory. He completed his education in Europe under the tutelage of Hermann Scherchen, Roger Désormière and Jean Martinon. After graduating, he toured Europe, performing with several orchestras, and worked as a music teacher at Birzeit University between 1944 and 1946. In 1957 he settled in Armenia at the invitation of Catholicos Vazgen I, and in 1959-65 and 1972-1974 he was conductor of the Armenian State Philharmonic Society. Due to Soviet restrictions on artistic expression, he left Armenia for Europe, and from 1963 to 1968 he served as Music Director of the Leipzig Opera and was Guest Conductor of the Gewandhaus Orchestra. 	Nar-Dos Michael Hovhannisyan ( hy, Միքայել Հովհաննիսյան, March 1, 1867 – July 13, 1933), known by the pen name Nar-Dos ( hy, Նար-Դոս), was an Armenian writer. Biography Nar-Dos was born to a wool seller's family in Tbilisi, Georgia in 1867. He started his education in a parochial school of Saint Karapet Church, and he continued it in Nicolaev Municipal School. He later entered Khon Seminary, Kutaisi, which he did not finish because of scarcity of living, and returned to Tbilisi. He was engaged in the profession of a locksmith at Michaelian craft school where he met Armenian poet Alexander Tsaturyan. A year later Nar-Dos left Michaelyan craft school and started practicing journalism. In 1890–1906 he was the responsible secretary of the periodical ''Nor dar'' ("A New Century"; hy, "Նոր դար"). History The area now known as Oak Hill was initially known as Live Oak Springs in the 19th century. The land was awarded to William Cannon by the Government of Mexico, Mexican government in 1835. His land stretched from Williamson Creek to Slaughter Creek. Settlers began coming into the area shortly after the founding of the city of Austin and Travis County. In 1846, William D. Glascock brought his family and slaves from Mississippi, settling just north of Williamson Creek.
