''Ogroff'', also known as ''Mad Mutilator'' is a 1983 French slasher film written, directed by, and starring Norbert Moutier (as N. G. Mount) and Howard Vernon. Its plot follows an isolated backwoods lumberjack who attacks and murders people passing through his woods. Howard Vernon
Howard Vernon (15 July 1908 – 25 July 1996) was a Swiss actor. In 1961, he became a favorite actor of Spanish film director Jesús Franco and began starring in many low-budget horror and erotic films produced in Spain and France. After portraying Franco's mad doctor character Dr. Orloff, he eventually appeared in a total of 40 Franco films, in addition to his roles for numerous other directors. Life and career Vernon was born Mario Lippert in Baden-Baden, Germany, to a Swiss father and an American mother, and was fluent in German, English and French. Originally a stage and radio actor, he worked primarily in France and became a well-known supporting actor after 1945 by playing villainous Nazi officers in post-war French films. Norbert George Moutier (17 March 1941 – 27 January 2020), also known by the pseudonym N.G. Mount, was a French publisher, writer, director, and actor. A professional filmmaker, Moutier had a passion for Z movies, similar to those of Jean Rollin and William Lustig. Biography Although he was fascinated by film at a young age, Moutier studied law. During his time as an accountant, he maintained his passion for film and comics while leading a film club and contributing to two fanzines, titled ''Monster Bis'' and ''Le Petit bédéraste du 20e siècle''. ''Monster Bis'' has been gaining notoriety among fans of Z movies. Moutier began shooting films in 1982. He worked as the director, screenwriter, producer, and sometimes as an actor in his movies. Chester Novell Turner (born September 30, 1946) is an American filmmaker known for his blaxploitation horror films '' Black Devil Doll From Hell'' and ''Tales from the QuadeaD Zone''. Since their releases in the 1980s, Turner's movies have developed cult followings and are considered to be much sought after collector's items. A copy of ''Black Devil Doll From Hell'' is currently archived by the Yale University Library and Turner's other movie was featured as part of a horror film symposium hosted by Yale University in 2016.
