Off The Wall Comedy Empire
Off the Wall Comedy Empire (also known as Off the Wall Comedy Basement) is a comedy club started by American-born comedian David Klmnick and Jeremy Man Saltan in Jerusalem, in November 2004. The club is located in the basement at 34 Ben Yehuda Street at the corner of King George Street, underneath the Hamashbir department store, in downtown Jerusalem, at the Little House in Baka, the former Olala Café. Ben Yehuda Street (Jerusalem)
Ben Yehuda Street ( he, רחוב בן יהודה), known as the "Midrachov" ( he, מדרחוב), is arguably the most famous street in Jerusalem, along with Jaffa Road. Ben Yehuda Street joins with Jaffa Road and King George Street in the heart of downtown Jerusalem to form the main Downtown Triangle central business district. Closed to vehicular traffic, the street is now Jerusalem's most popular pedestrian mall. The street runs from the intersection of King George Street east to Zion Square and Jaffa Road. The street is named after the founder of Modern Hebrew, Eliezer Ben-Yehuda. History Ben Yehuda was already one of Jerusalem's main streets long before the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948. King George Street ( he, רחוב המלך ג׳ורג׳, ''Rehov ha-Melekh Jorj'', ar, شارع الملك جورج ''Shara'a al-Malik Jurj'') is a street in central Jerusalem which joins the famous Ben Yehuda Street and Jaffa Road to form the Downtown Triangle central business district. Alex Edelman (born March 20, 1989) is an American stand-up comedian based in New York City. He is an internationally touring comic and found early success in the United Kingdom where he was named Best Newcomer at the 2014 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He has toured three shows since 2014: ''Millennial'' (2014–2015), ''Everything Handed to You'' (2015–2016), and ''Just for Us'' (2018–2020). Biography Edelman was born in Boston to Cheryl, a real estate lawyer, and Elazer R. Edelman, a biomedical engineer, cardiologist, and professor. He has two brothers, Austin, and Israeli Olympian Adam Edelman. He was raised in Brookline, Massachusetts. He began performing stand-up at age 15. A baseball fan, he also worked for the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers associations as a teenager. Benji Lovitt, ( he, בנג'י לוויט) is an Israeli-American comedian, educator and writer. Biography Benjamin (Benji) Lovitt was born in Dallas, Texas, attended J.J. Pearce High School, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Lovitt visited Israel for the first time when he was 15 years old as part of a Young Judaea trip, and he returned a few years later to spend a gap year before college as a participant on Young Judaea's Year Course program. In 2023, Benji marked Israel's 75th anniversary by co-authoring the book Israel 201, Your Next-Level Guide to the Magic, Mystery and Chaos! of Life in the Holy Land"with Joel Chasanoff.
