Ofer Yaakobi (עופר יעקובי; born January 12, 1961) is an Israeli former basketball player. He played the forward position. He competed in the Israeli Basketball Premier League, and played for the Israeli national basketball team. Biography Yaakobi was born in Kiryat Shmona, Israel, and is 2.0 m (6 ft 7 in) tall. He was married to Israeli beauty queen Pazit Cohen. He competed in the Israeli Basketball Premier League. Yaakobi played for Hapoel Gan Shmuel, Hapoel Holon, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Beitar Tel Aviv, Hapoel Gvat, and Maccabi Petah Tikva. Kiryat Shmona
Kiryat Shmona ( he, קִרְיַת שְׁמוֹנָה, ''lit.'' Town of the Eight) is a city in the Northern District of Israel on the western slopes of the Hula Valley near the Lebanese border. The city was named after the eight people, including Joseph Trumpeldor, who died in 1920 defending Tel Hai. The Israel men's national basketball team ( he, נבחרת ישראל בכדורסל) represents Israel in international basketball tournaments. They are administered by the Israeli Basketball Association. Israel is currently ranked 33rd in the FIBA World Rankings. Israel has qualified for the EuroBasket 30 times throughout their history. They have also made two appearances at the World Cup, and one at the Summer Olympics. Israel also participated at the Asian Games from 1966 to 1974. Gan Shmuel
Gan Shmuel ( he, גַּן שְׁמוּאֵל, ''lit.'' Shmuel's Garden) is a kibbutz in northern Israel. Located in Haifa District, east of Hadera, it falls under the jurisdiction of Menashe Regional Council. In it had a population of . The kibbutz was named after Rabbi Shmuel Mohilever. History The lands upon which Gan Shmuel was founded belonged to the Ottoman-era al-Dardara estate. After purchasing al-Dardara in 1891, the founders of the town of Hadera planted Gan Shmuel, a grove of etrogs (1895). The lands of Gan Shmuel were transferred to the Jewish National Fund and a small group of pioneers took it upon themselves to tend to the orchards living in a multi-story house in 1913. Hapoel Holon Basketball Club ( he, מועדון הכדורסל הפועל חולון), known for sponsorship reasons as Hapoel Atsmon Playgrounds Holon (), is a professional basketball club based in Holon, Israel. The team plays in the Israeli Basketball Premier League (the top tier of Israeli basketball), and internationally in the Basketball Champions League.
