Oeste Futebol Clube, commonly referred to as simply Oeste, is a Brazilian association football club based in Barueri, São Paulo. They currently play in the Campeonato Paulista Série A2, the second division of the São Paulo state football league. Originally from Itápolis in São Paulo state, Oeste was founded on 25 January 1921. They play in black and red shirts, black shorts and red socks. History The club was founded in 1921 by two brothers from Rio de Janeiro. One was a supporter of Flamengo, while the other was a supporter of Fluminense. A training match against an amateur club from the municipality of Fazenda Itaquerê was set to decide if the club would be named Flamengo or Fluminense. With a victory, the club would be named Flamengo, while if defeated the club would be named Fluminense. Arena Barueri
Arena Barueri is a multi-use stadium located in Barueri, São Paulo state, Brazil. It is used mostly for football matches and hosts the home matches of Oeste, and hosted the matches of Grêmio Recreativo Barueri until the 2010 season. The stadium has a maximum capacity of 31,452 people and was built in 2007. It is owned by the City of Barueri. During the reforming of Palestra Italia Stadium the Barueri Arena was being used for some home matches of Palmeiras. History Arena Barueri's construction started in June, 2006. Rodolfo Alves de Melo (born 19 March 1991), simply known as Rodolfo, is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Oeste, on loan from Fluminense. Club career Born in Santos, São Paulo, Rodolfo joined Atlético Paranaense's youth setup in 2011, aged 20. He was promoted to the main squad in the following year, being one of the five goalkeepers in the roster. Rodolfo made his professional debut on 19 May 2012, starting in a 4–1 away win against Joinville, for the Série B championship. He appeared in three further matches during the campaign, which ended in promotion. In July 2012, Rodolfo was suspended for 30 days after failing a doping exam, being later revealed that due to the use of cocaine.
