Eskişehir ( , ; from "old" and "city") is a city in northwestern Turkey and the capital of the Eskişehir Province. The urban population of the city is 898,369 with a metropolitan population of 797,708. Tayfun Talipoğlu Typewriter Museum, or shortly Typewriter Museum, ( tr, Tayfun Talipoğlu Daktilo Müzesi or ''Daktilo Müzesi'') is a technology museum in Odunpazarı, Eskişehir, Turkey exhibiting typewriters. The Typewriter Museum is the first one of its kind in Turkey. Owned and operated by Odunpazarı Municipality, the museum is situated in the historic Şamlıoğlu Mansion. Inaugurated on May 15, 2016, it is named for the journalist and television producer Tayfun Talipoğlu, who donated a number of typewriters he used. A wax sculpture of him is in the museum. Alaeddin Mosque (Eskişehir)
Alaeddin Mosque, also known as Alaaddin Mosque ( tr, Alaeddin Camii or ''Alaaddin Camii'') is a historic mosque in Odunpazarı district of Eskişehir Province, Turkey. Alaeddin Mosque is situated in Alaeddin Park at Odunpazarı, Eskişehir. According to an inscription at the base of its minaret, it was built in 1267, during the reign of Seljuq Sultan of Rûm Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev III (reigned 1265–1284). It was donated by Cacaoğlu Cibril or Cacaoğlu Nureddin, a follower of Mevlana. It is so one of the oldest buildings in Eskişehir. The almost-quadratic rectangular-plan mosque is constructed in rubble masonry. An octagonal -diameter dome sits in the middle of the flat wooden roof. Entrance to the mosque is at the northern side. Kurşunlu Mosque And Complex
Kurşunlu Mosque and Complex ( tr, Kurşunlu Camii ve Külliyesi) is a 16th-century Ottoman mosque and its social complex in Odunpazarı district of Eskişehir, Turkey. Mosque The mosque and the complex were commissioned by the Ottoman vizier Çoban Mustafa Pasha, and were built between 1517 and 1525. Although the architect is unknown, it is believed that it was designed by Acem Ali, who was the head architect before Mimar Sinan (c. 1489/1490 – 1588). The mosque is named for its lead-covered ( tr, Kurşunlu) dome. The mosque is a single-dome, quadratic-plan building having stone masonry walls. The inside of the dome is decorated with hand-carved figures. Marble columns and capitals support pointed-arches of the narthex in the architectural style of the classical period. Museum of Independence ( tr, Kurtuluş Müzesi) is a history museum in Odunpazarı, Eskişehir, Turkey. Established in 2016, it is dedicated to the Turkish War of Independence. The museum was established by the Metropolitan Municipality of Eskişehr, and was inaugurated on October 29, 2016, 93rd anniversary of the proclamation of the Turkish Republic. The museum is situated in the historic Mestanoğlu Halil Mansion, which was restored for this purpose in a project of June 2015. The fact that İsmet İnönü, commander of the Turkish troops during the First Battle of İnönü (1921), stayed in the mansion, was key to the selection of the site.
